520 - My father narrated to us, Nasr ibn 'Ali narrated to us, my father informed us, from Khalid ibn Qays, from Qatadah regarding His saying: "The Scripture," he said: The Torah.

521 - 'Isam ibn Rawwad narrated to us, Adam narrated to us, Abu Ja'far narrated to us, from al-Rabi', from Abu al-'Aliyah regarding His saying: "And when We gave Moses the Scripture and the Criterion," he said: He distinguished therein between truth and falsehood. It was narrated from Mujahid and al-Rabi' ibn Anas similarly.
The second view:
522 - It was mentioned to me from Sa'id ibn Abi Maryam, from Ibn Lahi'ah, from 'Ata' ibn Dinar, from Sa'id ibn Jubayr: "We gave Moses the Scripture and the Criterion," [meaning] the knowledge of the Scripture, its explanation, and its wisdom.
His saying: "That you might be guided."
523 - Abu Zur'ah narrated to us, Yahya ibn 'Abd Allah ibn Bukayr narrated to us, Ibn Lahi'ah narrated to me, 'Ata' ibn Dinar narrated to me, from Sa'id ibn Jubayr regarding the saying of Allah, the Mighty and Majestic: "That you might" (la'allakum), meaning so that (likay).
His saying: "And when Moses said to his people, 'O my people, indeed you have wronged yourselves by your taking of the calf.'"
524 - Al-Hasan ibn Muhammad ibn al-Sabah narrated to us, Shababah narrated to us, Warqa' narrated to us, from Ibn Abi Najih, from Mujahid: His saying: "By your taking of [the calf]"—he said: Jewelry they borrowed from the people of Pharaoh. So Aaron said to them: Burn it so that you may be purified from it.
525 - Al-Hasan ibn Ahmad narrated to us, Ibrahim ibn 'Abd Allah ibn Bashshar narrated to us, Surur ibn al-Mughirah narrated to me, from 'Abbad ibn Mansur, from al-Hasan regarding His saying: "And when Moses said to his people, 'O my people, indeed you have wronged yourselves by your taking of the calf'"—he said: He said that when there occurred in their hearts what occurred regarding the matter of their worship of the calf, and when Allah said: "And when they regretted and saw that they had gone astray, they said: 'If our Lord does not have mercy upon us and forgive us...'"—he said: That is when Moses said: "O my people, indeed you have wronged yourselves by your taking of the calf."
