[His saying, the Exalted: "And remember Our servants, Ibrahim"]
18363 - From Ibn Abbas, may Allah be pleased with them both, that he used to recite: "And remember Our servant Ibrahim," and he would say: "He only mentioned Ibrahim, then he mentioned his offspring after him."
His saying, the Exalted: "Possessors of strength and insight."
18364 - My father narrated to us, [saying]: Abu Salih narrated to us, [saying]: Mu'awiyah ibn Salih narrated to me, from Ali ibn Abi Talhah, from Ibn Abbas, regarding His saying: "Possessors of strength and insight," he said: "Insight: understanding of religion."
18365 - From Ibn Abbas, may Allah be pleased with them both, regarding His saying: "Possessors of strength," he said: "Strength in worship," and "insight," he said: "Vision in the matter of Allah."
His saying, the Exalted: "Indeed, We chose them with a pure quality: the remembrance of the Home."
18366 - From Ibn Abbas, may Allah be pleased with them both, regarding His saying: "Indeed, We chose them with a pure quality: the remembrance of the Home," he said: "They were made pure through that and through their remembrance of the home of the Day of Resurrection."
His saying, the Exalted: "[Those of] equal age."
18367 - From Ibn Abbas, may Allah be pleased with them, regarding His saying: "[Those of] equal age," he said: "Peers."
His saying, the Exalted: "Indeed, this is Our provision, to which there is no end."
18368 - From Qatadah regarding His saying: "Indeed, this is Our provision, to which there is no end," meaning: "There is no interruption." [Regarding His saying]: "This, so let them taste it: scalding water and filth." He said: "We used to be told that the filth is that which flows from between [the dweller of Hell's] skin and flesh." And [regarding the phrase]: "And others of its kind, of various sorts," he said: "Of its kind, [there are] various sorts of torment."
