and between the People of the Scripture there is a dispute, so with whom shall we dispute?" until the tribulation (fitna) occurred, and Ibn Umar said: "This is what our Lord, the Mighty and Majestic, promised us: we shall dispute regarding it."
His saying, the Exalted: "Then who is more unjust than one who lies about Allah and denies the truth?"

His saying, the Exalted: "And the one who has brought the truth"
18392 - From Ibn Abbas regarding His saying: "And the one who has brought the truth," meaning: 'There is no god but Allah.' "And he who confirms it," meaning: 'The Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace.' "Those, they are the righteous," meaning: they feared shirk (polytheism).
18393 - From al-Suddi regarding His saying: "And the one who has brought the truth," he said: "It is Gabriel, peace be upon him." "And he who confirms it," he said: "It is the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace."
His saying, the Exalted: "And they threaten you with those other than Him"
18394 - From Qatadah regarding "And they threaten you with those other than Him," he said: "With the idols." He said: The Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, sent Khalid ibn al-Walid to destroy al-'Uzza. Her custodians—and he was her caretaker—said: "O Khalid, I warn you against her; nothing can withstand her!" So Khalid walked toward her with an axe and smashed her nose.
18395 - A hadith of Qays ibn al-Hajjaj, from Hanash al-San'ani, from Ibn Abbas, in a marfu' form: "Be mindful of Allah, and He will be mindful of you. Be mindful of Allah, and you will find Him before you. Get to know Allah in times of ease, and He will know you in times of hardship. If you ask, ask Allah; and if you seek aid, seek aid from Allah. And know that if the nation were to gather to harm you with something that Allah has not written for you, they would not be able to harm you, and if they were to gather to benefit you with something that Allah has not written for you, they would not be able to benefit you. The pens have been lifted and the scrolls have dried. Act for Allah with gratitude in certainty. And know that there is much good in patience regarding what you dislike, and that victory comes with patience, relief comes with distress, and that with hardship comes ease."
