18472 - By the path of Miqsam, from Ibn Abbas, may Allah be pleased with them both, who said: The Ansar said, "We did this and we did that," and it was as if they were boasting. Ibn Abbas, may Allah be pleased with them both, said, "We have merit over you." This reached the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him), so he came to them in their gatherings and said: "O assembly of the Ansar, were you not lowly, and then Allah honored you?" They replied, "Indeed, O Messenger of Allah." He said: "Will you not answer me?"
They said, "What should we say, O Messenger of Allah?" He said: "Do you not say, 'Did your people not drive you out, and we sheltered you? Did they not reject you, and we believed in you? Did they not forsake you, and we supported you?'" He continued to speak until they knelt upon their knees and said, "Our wealth and what is in our hands belongs to Allah and His Messenger." Then was revealed: "Say, 'I do not ask of you for this any payment, except for the love of kinsfolk.'"
18473 - With a weak chain of narration by the path of Sa'id ibn Jubayr, from Ibn Abbas, who said: When this verse was revealed, "Say, 'I do not ask of you for this any payment, except for the love of kinsfolk,'" they said, "O Messenger of Allah, who are your kinsfolk whose love has been made obligatory?" He said: "Ali, Fatima, and her two sons."
18474 - Hashim ibn al-Qasim narrated to us, [who said] Layth narrated to us, [who said] Abu Qubayl al-Mu'afiri narrated to us, from Shufayy al-Asbahi, from Abdullah ibn Amr, may Allah be pleased with them both, who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) came out to us with two books in his hand, and he said: "Do you know what these two books are?" He said: We said, "No, unless you inform us, O Messenger of Allah." He said regarding the one in his right hand: "This is a book from the Lord of the worlds, containing the names of the people of Paradise, the names of their fathers, and their tribes, then he summarized their total, neither being added to nor subtracted from ever." Then he said regarding the one in his left hand: "This is a book of the people of the Fire, with their names, the names of their fathers, and their tribes, then he summarized their total, neither being added to nor subtracted from ever." The companions of the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: "For what reason, then, should we act if this is a matter that has already been finished?" The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: "Be upright and draw near, for the person of Paradise shall be sealed with the deeds of the people of Paradise, regardless of what deeds he may have done; and the person of the Fire shall be sealed with the deeds of the people of the Fire, regardless of what deeds he may have done." Then he moved his hand and closed it, and said: "Your Lord, the Mighty and Majestic, has finished with the servants." Then he gestured with his right and threw it, saying: "A group in Paradise," and he threw with his left and said: "A group in the Blaze."
18475 - My father narrated to us, from Muslim ibn Ibrahim, from Qaza'a ibn Suwayd, from Ibn Abi Najih, from Mujahid, from Ibn Abbas, that the Prophet (peace be upon him) said: "I do not ask you for any reward for what I have brought you of clear proofs and guidance, except that you should love Allah, and that you draw near to Him through His obedience."

١٨٤٧٢ - مِنْ طَرِيقِ مِقْسَمٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُمَا قَالَ: قَالَتِ الْأَنْصَارُ:
فَعَلْنَا وَفَعَلْنَا وكأنهم فَخَرُوا، فَقَالَ ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا: لَنَا الْفَضْلُ عَلَيْكُمْ فَبَلَغَ ذَلِكَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ- صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ- فَأَتَاهُمْ فِي مَجَالِسِهِمْ فَقَالَ: يَا مَعْشَرَ الْأَنْصَارِ أَلَمْ تَكُونُوا أَذِلَّةً فَأَعَزَّكُمُ اللَّهُ؟ قَالُوا بَلَى يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ قَالَ: أَفَلا تُجِيبُونِي؟
قَالُوا: مَا تَقُولُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ؟ قَالَ: أَلا تَقُولُونَ أَلَمْ يُخْرِجْكَ قَوْمُكَ فَآوَيْنَاكَ؟ أَوَ لَمْ يُكَذِّبُوكَ فَصَدَّقْنَاكَ؟ أَوَ لَمْ يَخْذُلُوكَ فَنَصَرْنَاكَ؟ فَمَا زَالَ يَقُولُ: حَتَّى جثوا على الركب وَقَالُوا: أَمْوَالُنَا وَمَا فِي أَيْدِينَا لِلَّهِ وَرَسُولِهِ فنزلت قل لا أسئلكم عَلَيْهِ أَجْرًا إِلا الْمَوَدَّةَ فِي الْقُرْبَى «١» .
١٨٤٧٣ - بِسَنَدٍ ضَعِيفٍ مِنْ طَرِيق سَعِيدُ بْنُ جُبَيْرٍ عَنْ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ: لَمَّا نَزَلَتْ هَذِهِ الْآيَةُ قل لا أسئلكم عَلَيْهِ أَجْرًا إِلا الْمَوَدَّةَ فِي الْقُرْبَى قَالُوا: يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ مَنْ قَرَابَتُكَ هَؤْلاءِ الَّذِينَ وَجَبَتْ مَوَدَّتُهُمْ؟ قَالَ: عَلِيٌّ وَفَاطِمَةُ وَوَلَدَاهَا «٢» .
١٨٤٧٤ - حَدَّثَنَا هَاشِمُ بْنُ الْقَاسِمِ، حَدَّثَنَا لَيْثٌ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو قُبَيْلٍ الْمُعَافِرِيُّ عَنْ شُفَيٍّ الْأَصْبَحِيِّ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا قَالَ: خَرَجَ عَلَيْنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ- صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ- وَفِي يَدِهِ كِتَابَانِ، فَقَالَ: «أَتَدْرُونَ مَا هَذَانِ الْكِتَابَانِ؟» قَالَ:
قُلْنَا: لَا، إِلا أَنْ تُخْبِرَنَا يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ قَالَ لِلَّذِي فِي يَدِهِ الْيُمْنَى: هَذَا كِتَابٌ مِنْ رَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ، بِأَسْمَاءِ أَهْلِ الْجَنَّةِ وَأَسْمَاءِ آبَائِهِمْ وَقَبَائِلِهِمْ، ثُمَّ أَجْمَلَ عَلَى آخَرِهِمْ لَا يُزَادُ فِيهِمْ وَلا يُنْقَصُ مِنْهُمْ أَبَدًا ثُمَّ قَالَ: لِلَّذِي فِي يَسَارِهِ هَذَا كِتَابُ أَهْلِ النَّارِ بِأَسْمَائِهِمْ وَأَسْمَاءِ آبَائِهِمْ وَقَبَائِلِهِمْ، ثُمَّ أَجْمَلَ عَلَى آخَرِهِمْ لَا يُزَادُ فِيهِمْ وَلا يُنْقَصُ مِنْهُمْ أَبَدًا» فَقَالَ أَصْحَابُ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: فَلِأَيِّ شَيْءٍ إِذًا نَعْمَلُ إِنْ كَانَ هَذَا أَمْرٌ قَدْ فُرِغَ مِنْهُ؟ فَقَال َرَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: سَدِّدُوا وَقَارِبُوا فَإِنَّ صَاحِبَ الْجَنَّةِ يُخْتَمُ لَهُ بِعَمَلِ الْجَنَّةِ، وَإِنْ عَمِلَ أَيَّ عَمَلٍ، وَإِنَّ صَاحِبَ النَّارِ لَيُخْتَمَ لَهُ بِعَمَلِ النَّارِ، وَإِنْ عَمِلَ أَيَّ عَمَلٍ» ثُمَّ قَالَ: بِيَدِهِ فَقَبَضَهَا، ثُمَّ قَالَ: فَرَغَ رَبُّكُمْ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ مِنَ الْعِبَادِ ثُمَّ قَالَ بِالْيُمْنَى فَنَبَذَ بِهَا فَقَالَ: فَرِيقٌ فِي الْجَنَّةِ وَنَبَذَ بِالْيُسْرَى فَقَالَ: فَرِيقٌ فِي السَّعِيرِ «٣» .
