Surah ad-Dukhan

18527 - From Ibn Abbas, regarding His saying: "Therein is made distinct every precise matter," he said: "It is written from the Mother of the Book (Umm al-Kitab) on the Night of Decree (Laylat al-Qadr) whatever will occur in the year, whether it be sustenance, death, life, or rain, until the pilgrim who is to perform Hajj is written: 'so-and-so will perform Hajj, and so-and-so will perform Hajj.'" (1)
18528 - From Ibn Umar, regarding His saying: "Therein is made distinct every precise matter," he said: "The matter of the year to the following year, except for misery and happiness, for that is in the Book of Allah; it is not replaced nor changed." (2)
18529 - By way of Ata al-Khurasani, from Ikrimah, [regarding] "Therein is made distinct every precise matter," he said: "He decrees every firm matter on the Night of Decree." (3)
18530 - From Ibn Abbas, he said: "Indeed, you see a man walking in the marketplaces while his name has already been recorded among the dead." Then he recited: "Indeed, We sent it down during a blessed night. Indeed, We were to warn [mankind]. Therein is made distinct every precise matter." [He said:] "Meaning the Night of Decree." He said: "So on that night, the affairs of the world are made distinct until the same time the following year—death, life, or sustenance. Every affair of the world is made distinct on that night until the same time the following year." (4)
18531 - By way of Muhammad ibn Suqah, from Ikrimah, [regarding] "Therein is made distinct every precise matter," he said: "On the night of the middle of Sha'ban, the matter of the year is finalized; the living are copied from the dead, and the pilgrims are written, so none are added to them, nor is anyone subtracted from them." (5)
18532 - My father narrated to us, Ja'far ibn Musafir narrated to us, Yahya ibn Hassan narrated to us, Ibn Lahi'ah narrated to us, Abd al-Rahman al-A'raj narrated to us, regarding His saying: "The day the heaven will bring a visible smoke," he said: "It was the day of the conquest of Makkah." (6)
18533 - Abu Zur'ah narrated to us, Safwan narrated to us, al-Walid narrated to us, Khalil narrated to us, from al-Hasan, from Abu Sa'id al-Khudri, may Allah be pleased with him, that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, said: "The smoke will stir among the people; as for the believer, it will take him like a cold, and as for the disbeliever, it will swell him until it comes out from every auditory passage of his."
18534 - My father narrated to us, Abdullah ibn Salih ibn Muslim narrated to us, Isra'il narrated to us, from Abu Ishaq, from al-Harith, from Ali, may Allah be pleased with him, who said: "The verse of the smoke has not passed yet. It will take the believer like the form of a cold, and it will swell the disbeliever until he is exhausted."
His saying, the Almighty: "And We have already tried..."
18543 - From Ibn Abbas, may Allah be pleased with them both, regarding His saying: "And We have already tried..."

His saying, the Almighty: "'Deliver to me the servants of Allah.'" To His saying: "'that you stone me.'"
18545 - From Ibn Abbas, may Allah be pleased with them both, regarding His saying: "'Deliver to me the servants of Allah,'" he said: "He says: Follow me to that which I call you to of the truth." And regarding His saying: "'And that you do not exalt yourselves,'" he said: "Do not fabricate lies." And regarding His saying: "'that you stone me,'" he said: "That you revile me."
His saying, the Almighty: "(Leaving) it as a calm sea."
18546 - From Ibn Abbas, may Allah be pleased with them both, regarding His saying: "(Leaving) it as a calm sea (rahwan)," he said: "Still/calm."
18547 - By way of Mujahid, from Ibn Abbas, may Allah be pleased with them both, [regarding] "And leave the sea as a calm sea," he said: "In its [former] state, and pass through it."
18548 - From Abdullah ibn al-Harith al-Hashimi, that Ibn Abbas asked Ka'b regarding His saying: "And leave the sea as a calm sea," he said: "A path."
His saying, the Almighty: "And a noble position."
18549 - From Ibn Abbas, may Allah be pleased with them both, regarding His saying: "And a noble position," he said: "The pulpits."
His saying, the Almighty: "And the heaven and earth wept not for them."
18550 - From Anas, may Allah be pleased with him, he said: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, said...

١٨٥٢٧ - عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ فِي قَوْلِهِ: فِيهَا يُفْرَقُ كُلُّ أَمْرٍ حَكِيمٍ قَالَ: يُكْتَبُ مِنْ أُمِّ الْكِتَابِ فِي لَيْلَةِ الْقَدْرِ مَا يَكُونُ فِي السَّنَةِ مِنْ رِزْقٍ أَوْ مَوْتٍ أَوْ حَيَاةٍ أَوْ مَطَرٍ حَتَّى يُكْتَبَ الْحَاجُّ يَحِجُّ فُلانٌ وَيَحِجُّ فَلانٌ «١» .
١٨٥٢٨ - عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ فِي قَوْلِهِ: فِيهَا يُفْرَقُ كُلُّ أَمْرٍ حَكِيمٍ قَالَ: أَمْرُ السَّنَةِ إِلَى السَّنَةِ إِلا الشَّقَاءَ وَالسَّعَادَةَ، فَإِنَّهُ فِي كِتَابِ اللَّهِ لَا يُبَدَّلُ وَلا يُغَيَّرُ «٢» .
١٨٥٢٩ - مِنْ طَرِيقِ عَطَاءٍ الْخُرَاسَانِيِّ، عَنْ عِكْرَمَةَ، فِيهَا يُفْرَقُ كُلُّ أَمْرٍ حَكِيمٍ قَالَ: يَقْضِي فِي لَيْلَةِ الْقَدْرِ كُلَّ أَمْرٍ مُحْكَمٍ «٣» .
١٨٥٣٠ - عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ: إِنَّكَ لَتَرَى الرَّجُلَ يَمْشِي فِي الْأَسْوَاقِ وَقَدْ وَقَعَ اسْمُهُ فِي الْمَوْتَى ثُمَّ قَرَأَ: إِنَّا أَنْزَلْنَاهُ فِي لَيْلَةٍ مُبَارَكَةٍ إِنَّا كُنَّا مُنْذِرِينَ فِيهَا يُفْرَقُ كُلُّ أَمْرٍ حَكِيمٍ يَعْنِي لَيْلَةَ الْقَدْرِ قَالَ: فَفِي تِلْكَ اللَّيْلَةِ يُفْرَقُ أَمْرُ الدُّنْيَا إِلَى مِثْلِهَا مِنْ قَابِلٍ مَوْتٌ أَوْ حَيَاةٌ أَوْ رِزْقٌ كُلُّ أَمْرِ الدُّنْيَا يُفْرَقُ تِلْكَ اللَّيْلَةَ إِلَى مِثْلِهَا مِنْ قَابِلٍ «٤» .
١٨٥٣١ - مِنْ طَرِيقِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ سُوقَةَ، عَنْ عِكْرَمَةَ فِيهَا يُفْرَقُ كُلُّ أَمْرٍ حَكِيمٍ قَالَ: فِي لَيْلَةِ النِّصْفِ مِنْ شَعْبَانَ يُبْرَمُ أَمْرُ السَّنَةِ، وَيُنْسَخُ الْأَحْيَاءُ مِنَ الْأَمْوَاتِ، وَيُكْتَبُ الحاج فلا يزاد فيهم لا يُنْقَصُ مِنْهُمْ أَحَدٌ «٥» .
١٨٥٣٢ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي، حَدَّثَنَا جَعْفَرُ بْنُ مُسَافِرٍ، حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ حَسَّانٍ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ لَهِيعَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ الْأَعْرَجُ فِي قَوْلِهِ: يَوْمَ تَأْتِي السَّمَاءُ بِدُخَانٍ مُبِينٍ قَالَ:
كَانَ يَوْمَ فَتْحِ مَكَّةَ «٦» .
١٨٥٣٣ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو زُرْعَةَ حَدَّثَنَا صَفْوَانُ، ثنا الْوَلِيدُ، ثنا خَلِيلٌ، عَنِ الْحَسَنِ، عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: «يهيج
