the smoke among the people. As for the believer, it will take him like a cold, and as for the disbeliever, it will swell him until it comes out from every auditory passage of his." (1)
18534 - My father narrated to us, Abdullah ibn Salih ibn Muslim narrated to us, Isra'il narrated to us, from Abu Ishaq, from al-Harith, from Ali, may Allah be pleased with him, who said: "The verse of the smoke has not passed yet. It will take the believer like the form of a cold, and it will swell the disbeliever until he is exhausted." (2)
His saying, the Almighty: "And We have already tried..."
18543 - From Ibn Abbas, may Allah be pleased with them both, regarding His saying: "And We have already tried..." (3)
18544 -
His saying, the Almighty: "'Deliver to me the servants of Allah.'" To His saying: "'that you stone me.'"
18545 - From Ibn Abbas, may Allah be pleased with them both, regarding His saying: "'Deliver to me the servants of Allah,'" he said: "He says: Follow me to that which I call you to of the truth." And regarding His saying: "'And that you do not exalt yourselves,'" he said: "Do not fabricate lies." And regarding His saying: "'that you stone me,'" he said: "That you revile me." (4)
His saying, the Almighty: "(Leaving) it as a calm sea."
18546 - From Ibn Abbas, may Allah be pleased with them both, regarding His saying: "(Leaving) it as a calm sea (rahwan)," he said: "Still/calm." (5)
18547 - By way of Mujahid, from Ibn Abbas, may Allah be pleased with them both, [regarding] "And leave the sea as a calm sea," he said: "In its [former] state, and pass through it." (6)
18548 - From Abdullah ibn al-Harith al-Hashimi, that Ibn Abbas asked Ka'b regarding His saying: "And leave the sea as a calm sea," he said: "A path." (7)
His saying, the Almighty: "And a noble position."
18549 - From Ibn Abbas, may Allah be pleased with them both, regarding His saying: "And a noble position," he said: "The pulpits." (8)
His saying, the Almighty: "And the heaven and earth wept not for them."
18550 - From Anas, may Allah be pleased with him, he said: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, said...
