His saying, the Almighty: "Qaf"

18624 - From Ibn 'Abbas, he said: Allah created a sea behind this earth encompassing it, then He created behind that a mountain called Qaf, with the lowest heaven hovering above it. Then He created behind that mountain an earth like that earth seven times over, then He created behind that a sea encompassing it, then He created behind that a mountain called Qaf, with the second heaven hovering above it, until he counted seven earths, seven seas, seven mountains, and seven heavens. He said: That is His saying, "And the sea, with seven seas added to it [from behind it]."(1)

His saying, the Almighty: "By the glorious Qur'an."

18625 - From Ibn 'Abbas regarding "By the glorious Qur'an," he said: The generous [or noble].(2)

18626 - From Ibn 'Abbas, he said: "By the glorious Qur'an," there is nothing better than it and nothing superior to it.(3)

His saying, the Almighty: "We know what the earth diminishes of them."

18627 - From Ibn 'Abbas regarding "We know what the earth diminishes of them," he said: [What it diminishes] of their bodies and what departs from them.(4)

18628 - From several chains from Ibn 'Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) regarding His saying, "And the palm trees, having fruit stalks [lit: tall/lofty]," he said: [Meaning] the tall ones.(5)

His saying, the Almighty: "Having layers of fruit."

18629 - From Ibn 'Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) regarding His saying, "Having layers of fruit," he said: Stacked one upon another.(6)
