[Surat al-Dhariyat]

His saying, the Almighty: "The Scatterers (al-Dhariyat)."
18649 - Abu Sa'id al-Ashaj narrated to us, 'Uqbah ibn Khalid al-Sakuni narrated to us, Sa'id ibn 'Ubayd al-Ta'i narrated to us, from 'Ali ibn Rabi'ah that Ibn al-Kawwa' asked 'Ali: What are the Scatterers? He said: The wind.(1)
His saying, the Almighty: "By the sky full of paths (dhata al-hubuk)."
18650 - Abu Sa'id al-Ashaj narrated to us, Ibn Fudayl narrated to us, from 'Ata' ibn al-Sa'ib, from Sa'id ibn Jubayr, from Ibn 'Abbas regarding His saying: "By the sky full of paths," he said: Its beauty and its evenness.(2)
His saying, the Almighty: "Those who are in a flood of confusion, heedless."
18651 - My father narrated to us, Abu Salih narrated to us, Mu'awiyah ibn Salih narrated to us, from 'Ali, from Ibn 'Abbas regarding His saying: "Those who are in a flood of confusion, heedless," he says: They persist in their prayer.(3)
His saying, the Almighty: "And in the hours before dawn, they would ask forgiveness."
18652 - From Ibn 'Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) regarding His saying: "And in the hours before dawn, they would ask forgiveness," he said: They pray.(4)
His saying, the Almighty: "And in their wealth there was a right."
18653 - From Ibn 'Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) regarding His saying: "And in their wealth there was a right," he said: Other than Zakat, through which he maintains family ties, or entertains a guest, or helps the deprived.(5)
His saying, the Almighty: "For the petitioner and the deprived."
18653 - From Ibn 'Abbas that he was asked about the petitioner and the deprived, he said: The petitioner is the one who asks people, and the deprived is the one who has no share among the Muslims.(6)
18654 - From al-Hasan ibn Muhammad ibn al-Hanafiyyah who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) sent a military expedition, and they struck and took spoils, then a people came after they had finished, and [the verse] "And in their wealth there was a known right for the petitioner and the deprived" was revealed.(1)
