Suwayd ibn Jabalah—he is the Fazzari—said: "Indeed, your Lord every day is bringing about a matter; He emancipates necks, grants gifts, and imposes punishments." (1)
18737 - My father narrated to us, Hisham ibn 'Ammar and Sulayman ibn Ahmad al-Wasiti narrated to us, saying: al-Wazir ibn Subayh al-Thaqafi Abu Rawh al-Dimashqi narrated to us—and the wording is Hisham's—he said: I heard Yunus ibn Maysarah ibn Halbas narrating from Umm al-Darda', from Abu al-Darda', from the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) that he said: Allah the Almighty says: "Every day He is bringing about a matter." He said: Among His matters is that He forgives a sin, relieves a distress, raises a people, and abases others. (2)
His saying, the Almighty: "We will attend to you, O prominent beings," until His saying: "You will not pass except by authority."
18738 - From Ibn 'Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) regarding His saying: "We will attend to you, O prominent beings," he said: This is a threat from Allah to His servants, and there is no preoccupation for Allah. And regarding His saying: "You will not pass except by authority," he says: You will [not be able to] exit from My authority. (3)
His saying, the Almighty: "There will be sent upon you a flame of fire and brass."
18739 - From Ibn 'Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) regarding His saying: "There will be sent upon you a flame of fire," he said: The flame of fire. "And brass," he said: The smoke of fire. (4)
His saying, the Almighty: "So the forelocks and the feet will be seized."
18740 - From Ibn 'Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) regarding His saying: "So the forelocks and the feet will be seized," he said: The Zabaniyah (angels of punishment) will seize him by his forelock and his feet, and he will be folded and broken just as firewood is broken in an oven. (5)
His saying, the Almighty: "And between scalding water and intense heat."
18741 - From Ibn 'Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) regarding His saying: "And between scalding water and intense heat," he said: That which has reached its extreme heat. (6)
