18830 - Ibn Mas'ud said: It is imminent for you, if you remain, or if those who remain among you remain, that you will see affairs you disapprove of, yet you will not be able to change them. It is sufficient for one of you that Allah knows from his heart that he detests them. (1)

18831 - From Abu Hurayrah, may Allah be pleased with him, that he said: Recite: "And those who believed in Allah and His messengers - those are the truthful and the martyrs with their Lord." (2)
His saying, the Almighty: [Any] disaster in the earth
18832 - From Ibn 'Abbas, may Allah be pleased with them both, regarding the saying of Allah: "No disaster strikes upon the earth or among yourselves except that it is in a register before We bring it into being," he says: In the world and in religion, except that it is in a register before We bring it into being, meaning: We create it, so that you may not despair over what has eluded you of the world, nor rejoice in what He has given you of it. His saying, the Almighty: And We sent down iron
18833 - From Ibn 'Abbas that he was asked about the days, and he said: Saturday is a number, Sunday is a number, Monday is a day on which deeds are presented, Tuesday is the day of blood, Wednesday is the day of iron ("And We sent down iron, wherein is great military might"), Thursday is a day on which deeds are presented, and Friday is the day when Allah began creation, and in it the Hour shall be established. His saying, the Almighty: The hearts of those who followed him
18834 - Through chains from Ibn Mas'ud, he said: The Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said to me: "O 'Abdullah!" I said: "At your service, O Messenger of Allah," three times. He said: "Do you know which bond of faith is the firmest?" I said: "Allah and His Messenger know best." He said: "The firmest bond of faith is allegiance for the sake of Allah—loving for His sake and hating for His sake." He said: "Do you know which people are the best?" I said: "Allah and His Messenger know best." He said: "The best of people are those best in deeds when they understand the religion. O 'Abdullah, do you know who is the most learned of people?" I said: "Allah and His Messenger know best." He said: "The most learned of people is the one who has the most insight into the truth when people disagree, even if he is lacking in deeds and even if he is crawling on his posterior. Those who were before us split into seventy-two sects; three of them were saved and the rest perished. A sect rose against the kings and fought them..."

١٨٨٣٠ - قَالَ ابْنُ مَسْعُودٍ: أَوْشَكُ بِكُمْ إِنْ بَقِيتُمْ، أَوْ بَقَيَ مَنْ بَقَيَ مِنْكُمْ، أَنْ تَرَوْا أُمُورًا تُنْكِرُونَهَا لَا تَسْتَطِيعُونَ لَهَا غَيْرًا، فَحَسْبُ الْمَرْءِ مِنْكُمْ أَنْ يَعْلَمَ اللَّهُ مِنْ قَلْبِهِ أنه لها كاره «١» .

١٨٨٣١ - عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ أَنَّهُ قال اقرأوا: وَالَّذِينَ آمَنُوا بِاللَّهِ وَرُسُلِهِ أُوْلَئِكَ هُمُ الصِّدِّيقُونَ وَالشُّهَدَاءُ عِندَ رَبِّهِمْ «٢» .
قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: مُصِيبَةٍ فِي الْأَرْضِ
١٨٨٣٢ - عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا فِي قَوْلِ اللَّهِ: مَا أَصَابَ مِنْ مُصِيبَةٍ فِي الْأَرْضِ وَلا فِي أَنْفُسِكُمْ يَقُولُ: فِي الدُّنْيَا وَلا فِي الدِّينِ إِلا فِي كِتَابٍ مِنْ قَبْلِ أَنْ نَبْرَأَهَا قَالَ: نَخْلُقَهَا لِكَيْلا تَأْسَوْا عَلَى مَا فَاتَكُمْ مِنَ الدُّنْيَا وَلا تفرحوا بما آتاكم منها «٣» .
قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: وَأَنْزَلْنَا الْحَدِيدَ
١٨٨٣٣ - عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ أَنَّهُ سُئِلَ عَنِ الْأَيَّامِ فَقَالَ: السَّبْتُ عَدَدٌ وَالْأَحَدُ عَدَدٌ وَالِاثْنَيْنُ يَوْمٌ تُعْرَضُ فِيهِ الْأَعْمَالُ، وَالثُّلاثَاءُ يَوْمُ الدَّمِ، وَالْأَرْبَعَاءُ يَوْمُ الْحَدِيدِ وَأَنْزَلْنَا الْحَدِيدَ فِيهِ بَأْسٌ شَدِيدٌ وَالْخَمِيسُ يَوْمٌ تُعْرَضُ فِيهِ الْأَعْمَالُ. وَالْجُمُعَةُ يَوْمُ بَدَأَ اللَّهُ الْخَلْقَ وَفِيهِ تَقُومُ السَّاعَةُ «٤» .
قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: قُلُوبِ الَّذِينَ اتَّبَعُوهُ
١٨٨٣٤ - مِنْ طُرُقٍ عَنِ ابْنِ مَسْعُودٍ قَالَ: «قَالَ لِي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، يَا عَبْدَ اللَّهِ، قُلْتُ: لَبَّيْكَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ثَلاثَ مَرَّاتٍ، قَالَ: هَلْ تَدْرِي أَيُّ عُرَا الْإِيْمَانِ أَوْثَقَ؟ قُلْتُ اللَّهُ وَرَسُولُهُ أَعْلَمُ، قَالَ: أَوْثَقُ عُرَا الْإِيْمَانِ الْوِلايَةُ فِي اللَّهِ بَالْحُبِّ فِيهِ وَالْبُغْضِ فِيهِ، قَالَ: هَلْ تَدْرِي أَيُّ النَّاسِ أَفْضَلَ؟ قُلْتُ اللَّهُ وَرَسُولُهُ أَعْلَمُ، قَالَ:
أَفْضَلُ النَّاسِ أَفْضَلُهُمْ عَمَلًا إِذَا تَفَقَّهُوا فِي الدِّينِ، يَا عَبْدَ اللَّهِ هَلْ تَدْرِي أَيُّ النَّاسِ أَعْلَمَ؟ قُلْتُ اللَّهُ وَرَسُولُهُ أَعْلَمُ، قَالَ: فَإِنَّ أَعْلَمَ النَّاسِ أَبْصَرُهُمْ بِالْحَقِّ إِذَا اخْتَلَفَ النَّاسُ وَإِنْ كَانَ مُقَصِّرًا بِالْعَمَلِ، وَإِنْ كَانَ يَزْحَفُ عَلَى اسْتِهِ وَاخْتَلَفَ مَنْ كَانَ قَبْلَنَا عَلَى اثْنَتَيْنِ وَسَبْعِينَ فِرْقَةً نَجَا مِنْهَا ثَلاثٌ وَهَلَكَ سَائِرُهَا، فِرْقَةٌ وَزَّتِ الْمُلُوكَ وَقَاتَلَتْهُمْ
