or like the blinking of lightning, then like the passing of wind, then like the passing of birds, then like the swiftest of livestock, and so on, until a man comes running, and a man comes walking, until the last of them comes as a man dragging himself on his stomach. He says: "O Lord, you have delayed me." He says: "It is only your deeds that have delayed you." Then Allah grants permission for intercession. The first to intercede is Gabriel, then Abraham, the Friend of Allah, then Moses, or he said Jesus, then your Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, rises as the fourth, and no one intercedes after him regarding what he intercedes for. This is the Praiseworthy Station which Allah promised him: "It is expected that your Lord will raise you to a Praiseworthy Station." There is no soul but that it looks at a home in Paradise and a home in Hell; it is the Day of Regret. The people of Hell see the home that is in Paradise, and it is said: "If only you had acted [righteously]." And the people of Paradise see the home that is in Hell, and it is said: "Were it not that Allah bestowed His favor upon you." Then the angels, the prophets, the martyrs, and the righteous believers intercede, and Allah grants their intercession. Then He says: "I am the Most Merciful of the merciful." He brings out of the Fire more than He brought out from all of creation by His mercy, until He does not leave in it anyone in whom there is any goodness. Then Abdullah recited: "What led you into Saqar (Hell)? They will say: We were not of those who prayed..." up to His saying: "And we used to deny the Day of Recompense." He said: "Do you see among these anyone in whom there is any goodness? No, and He does not leave in it anyone in whom there is any goodness." When Allah wills not to bring anyone out of it, other than their faces and their complexions, a man of the believers comes and intercedes, and it is said to him: "Whoever recognizes someone, let him bring him out." The man comes and looks but does not recognize anyone. A man says to another: "O so-and-so, I am so-and-so." He says: "I do not know you." They say: "Our Lord, bring us out of it; if we return [to evil], then indeed we are wrongdoers." He says: "Go away into it, and do not speak to Me." When He says that, it is shut upon them, and no human being comes out of it.
