His (Exalted is He) saying: "the self-reproaching"
19053 - My father narrated to us, ʿAbd Allāh ibn Ṣāliḥ ibn Muslim narrated to us, from Isrāʾīl, from Simāk, that he asked ʿIkrimah about His saying: "And I do not swear by the self-reproaching soul," he said: It reproaches for both good and evil, [saying]: "If only I had done such-and-such."
19054 - From Ibn ʿAbbās regarding His saying: "by the self-reproaching soul," he said: The blameworthy [soul].
[His (Exalted is He) saying: "Man will be informed"]
19055 - From Ibn ʿAbbās regarding "Man will be informed that day of what he put forth and left behind," he said: Of what he did before his death and what he initiated [of tradition] so it was acted upon after his death.
His (Exalted is He) saying: "We are able to restore his fingertips"
19056 - From Ibn ʿAbbās regarding "Yes, We are able to restore his fingertips," he said: If He had willed, He would have made them like the camel's foot or the donkey's hoof, but God made them a sound, good, and beautiful creation with which you grip and release, O son of Adam.
His (Exalted is He) saying: "But man desires to continue in his wickedness"
19057 - From Ibn ʿAbbās regarding His saying: "But man desires to continue in his wickedness [to deny what is ahead of him]," he says: [He says,] "I will repent later."
His (Exalted is He) saying: "No refuge [wazar]"
19058 - From Ibn Masʿūd regarding His saying: "No wazar," he said: No fortress.
19059 - And from Ibn ʿAbbās regarding His saying: "No wazar," he said: No fortress and no place of refuge.
