His (Exalted is He) saying: "Has there not been over Man a period of time, from the Age"

19075 - From Qatādah, regarding His saying: "Has there not been over Man a period of time, from the Age," he said: "Man has had a period of time pass over him, during which he was not a thing mentioned." He said: "Man was only created here recently; nothing of God’s creation that existed before is known, except for this man."

His (Exalted is He) saying: "Amshāj (mingled drops)"

19076 - From Ibn Masʿūd, regarding His saying: "Amshāj," he said: "The veins."

19077 - From Ibn ʿAbbās, regarding His saying: "From a mingled drop," he said: "From the water of the man and the water of the woman when they mix."

19078 - From Ibn ʿAbbās, regarding His saying: "From a mingled drop," he said: "Differing in colors."

19079 - From Ibn ʿAbbās, he said: "The amshāj is that which comes out after the urine like pieces of strings, and from it, the child is formed."

His (Exalted is He) saying: "They fulfill their vows"

19080 - From Qatādah, regarding "They fulfill their vows," he said: "They used to fulfill their obedience to God, regarding prayer, zakāt, pilgrimage, ʿumrah, and what was made obligatory upon them. Thus, God named them the righteous (al-abrār) for that, and He said: 'They fulfill their vows, and they fear a Day whose evil is widespread (mustaṭīran).'" He said: "By God, the evil of that Day has spread until it filled the heavens and the earth."
