His (Exalted is He) saying: "By those [winds] sent forth (al-mursalāt)"

19086 - My father narrated to us, Zakariyyā ibn Sahl al-Marwazī narrated to us, ʿAlī ibn al-Ḥasan ibn Shaqīq narrated to us, al-Ḥusayn ibn Wāqid informed us, al-Aʿmash narrated to us, from Abū Ṣāliḥ, from Abū Hurayrah, regarding [the verse]: "By those sent forth (al-mursalāt) in succession (ʿurfan)," he said: "The angels."

19087 - From Abū Hurayrah (may God be pleased with him), regarding: "By those sent forth in succession (ʿurfan)," he said: "They are the angels; they were sent with goodness (maʿrūf)."

His (Exalted is He) saying: "And by those that blow violently (al-ʿāṣifāt)"

19088 - By way of Abū al-ʿUbaydayn, that he asked Ibn Masʿūd about: "By those sent forth in succession (ʿurfan)," he said: "The wind." [He asked about] "And by those that blow violently (al-ʿāṣifāt) with force," he said: "The wind." [He asked about] "And by those that spread [clouds] (al-nāshirāt) spreading," he said: "The wind." [He asked about] "And by those that separate [right from wrong] (al-fāriqāt) separating," he said: "That is enough for you."

His (Exalted is He) saying: "A place of gathering (kifātā)"

19089 - By way of ʿAlī, from Ibn ʿAbbās, regarding "kifātā," he said: "A covering/receptacle (kinnā)."

His (Exalted is He) saying: "Yellow bundles (jimālāt ṣufr)"

19090 - By way of ʿAlī, from Ibn ʿAbbās, regarding "firm, lofty mountains (rawāsī jibālan shāmikhāt) [rising] high (mushrifāt), sweet (furātan ʿadhban), with sparks like a palace (bisharar kal-qaṣr)," he said: "Like a great palace." Regarding "yellow bundles (jimālāt ṣufr)," he said: "Pieces of copper."
