His (Exalted is He) saying: "Like a palace (kal-qaṣr)"

19091 - From Ibn Masʿūd, regarding His saying: "It throws sparks like a palace," he said: "It is not like trees and mountains, but rather it is like cities and fortresses."

His (Exalted is He) saying: "This is the Day of Judgement; We have gathered you and the former peoples"

19092 - ʿAlī ibn al-Mundhir al-Ṭarīfī al-Awdī narrated to us, Muḥammad ibn Fuḍayl narrated to us, Ḥuṣayn ibn ʿAbd Allāh ibn ʿAmr and Kaʿb al-Aḥbār were talking in Bayt al-Maqdis (Jerusalem), and ʿUbādah said: "When the Day of Resurrection comes, God will gather the first and the last on a single level plain, where the sight will encompass them, the caller will be heard, and God will say: 'This is the Day of Judgement; We have gathered you and the former peoples. So if you have a plan, then plan against Me.' On that day, no obstinate tyrant nor rebellious devil shall escape Me." Then ʿAbd Allāh ibn ʿAmr said: "We are told that on that day, a neck [of fire] will emerge from the Fire and proceed until it is in the midst of the people, calling out: 'O people, I have been sent to three [types of people], whom I know better than a father knows his son and a brother knows his brother. No sin will hide them from me, and no hidden thing will conceal them from me: the one who set up another god with God, every obstinate tyrant, and every rebellious devil.' Then it will fold itself over them and they will be cast into the Fire forty years before the Reckoning."
