His (Exalted is He) saying: "And a cup full"

19105 - From Ibn ʿAbbās, regarding His saying: "And a cup full," he said: "It is the full, overflowing, successive one." And I have sometimes heard al-ʿAbbās saying: "O boy, give us a drink and fill (idhiq) for us."

His (Exalted is He) saying: "The day that the Spirit and the angels will stand in rows"

19106 - From Ibn ʿAbbās, that the Prophet (may God bless him and grant him peace) said: "The Spirit is a host among the hosts of God; they are not angels. They have heads, hands, and feet." Then he recited: "The day that the Spirit and the angels will stand in rows," and said: "These are a host, and these are a host."

19107 - From al-Shaʿbī, regarding His saying: "The day that the Spirit and the angels will stand in rows," he said: "They are the two rows of the Lord of the worlds on the Day of Resurrection: a row of the Spirit and a row of the angels. Mankind, the angels, and the devils are one-tenth of the Spirit. The Prophet (may God bless him and grant him peace) was taken [in death] while no one knows what the Spirit is."

19108 - From Ibn ʿAbbās, regarding His saying: "The day that the Spirit will stand," he said: "It is an angel who is among the greatest of the angels in creation."

His (Exalted is He) saying: "Would that I had been dust!"

19109 - From Abū Hurayrah, he said: "All creatures will be gathered on the Day of Resurrection—the beasts, the crawling creatures, the birds, and everything. It will reach the extent of God’s justice that He will take retribution for the hornless sheep from the horned one. Then He will say: 'Become dust.' That is when the disbeliever says: 'Would that I had been dust!'"
