the Messenger of Allāh (may Allāh bless him and grant him peace) would not forget anything except what Allāh willed. "Indeed, He knows what is declared and what is hidden." He said: The whispering (of the soul).
19225 - On the authority of Saʿīd ibn Jubayr regarding "Indeed, He knows what is declared and what is hidden," he said: What you hide within yourself.
His statement, the Almighty: "And We will ease you toward ease."
19226 - On the authority of Ibn ʿAbbās regarding His statement: "And We will ease you toward ease," he said: Toward good.
His statement, the Almighty: "So remind, if the reminder should benefit. He who fears [Allāh] will be reminded. But the wretched one will avoid it."
19227 - On the authority of Qatādah regarding His statement: "He who fears [Allāh] will be reminded. But the wretched one will avoid it," he said: By Allāh, no servant has ever feared Allāh without remembering Him, and no servant has ever turned away from this Reminder out of disdain for it, hatred for it, and for its people, without becoming wretched among the wretched.
His statement, the Almighty: "He has certainly succeeded who purifies himself, and mentions the name of his Lord and prays."
19228 - On the authority of Ibn ʿAbbās (may Allāh be pleased with them both) regarding His statement: "He has certainly succeeded who purifies himself," he said: From polytheism. "And mentions the name of his Lord," he said: He affirmed the Oneness of Allāh. "And prays," he said: The five daily prayers.
19229 - On the authority of ʿIkrimah (may Allāh be pleased with him) regarding His statement: "He has certainly succeeded who purifies himself," he said: Whoever says there is no god but Allāh.
19230 - On the authority of ʿAṭāʾ (may Allāh be pleased with him) he said: "He has certainly succeeded who purifies himself," he said: Whoever believes.
19231 - On the authority of ʿAṭāʾ (may Allāh be pleased with him) he said: "He has certainly succeeded who purifies himself," he said: Whoever increases in seeking forgiveness.
19232 - On the authority of Qatādah (may Allāh be pleased with him) regarding His statement: "He has certainly succeeded who purifies himself," he said: Through a righteous deed.
