His saying, the Almighty: "So as for the orphan, do not oppress [him]."

19379 - On the authority of Mujāhid regarding "So as for the orphan, do not oppress [him]," he said: Do not belittle him. He mentioned that in the codex of ʿAbd Allāh it is written, "Do not cast him off."

19380 - On the authority of Mujāhid regarding "do not oppress," he said: Do not wrong [him].

19381 - On the authority of Qatādah regarding "So as for the orphan, do not oppress [him]," he says: Do not wrong him.

19382 - On the authority of Qatādah regarding "So as for the orphan, do not oppress [him]," he said: Be like a merciful father to the orphan. And regarding "And as for the petitioner, do not repel [him]," he said: Turn away the petitioner with mercy and gentleness.

19383 - On the authority of Sufyān regarding "And as for the petitioner, do not repel [him]," he said: Whoever comes asking you about a matter of his religion, do not repel him.

His saying, the Almighty: "But as for the favor of your Lord, report [it]."

19384 - On the authority of Mujāhid regarding "But as for the favor of your Lord, report [it]," he said: [Report it] with the Qurʾān.

19385 - On the authority of Miqsam, he said: I met al-Ḥasan ibn ʿAlī ibn Abī Ṭālib and shook his hand. He said: The encounter is the handshake of the believer. I said: Inform me about His saying: "But as for the favor of your Lord, report [it]." He said: The believing man performs a righteous deed and informs his family about it. I asked: Which of the two terms did Moses fulfill, the first or the last? He said: The last.

19386 - On the authority of al-Ḥasan ibn ʿAlī regarding His saying: "But as for the favor of your Lord, report [it]," he said: If you receive good, then speak of it to your brothers.
