Surah al-Falaq

113

His saying, the Exalted: "al-Falaq"

19536- Aḥmad b. ʿIṣām narrated to us, Abū Aḥmad al-Zubayrī narrated to us, Ḥasan b. Ṣāliḥ narrated to us, from ʿAbd Allāh b. Muḥammad b. ʿAqīl, from Jābir, who said: "Al-Falaq is the morning." (1)

19537- From Zayd b. ʿAlī, from his forefathers, who said: "Al-Falaq is a pit in the bottom of Hell that is covered. When it is uncovered, fire emerges from it, and Hell cries out from the intensity of the heat that comes out of it." (2)

19538- From Ibn ʿAbbās (may Allāh be pleased with them both), who said: "Al-Falaq is the creation." (3)

His saying, the Exalted: "Gāsiq (darkness)"

19539- From Ibn Shihāb (may Allāh be pleased with him), who said: "The Gāsiq is the setting of the Pleiades; and the Gāsiq when it settles is the sun when it sets." (4)

His saying, the Exalted: "Al-Naffāthāt (the blowers)"

19540- From al-Ḍaḥḥāk (may Allāh be pleased with him) regarding "the Naffāthāt": He said, "The sorceresses." (5)

His saying, the Exalted: "Al-Naffāthāt in the knots"

19541- From Mujāhid (may Allāh be pleased with him) regarding "the Naffāthāt in the knots": He said, "The incantations in the knots of the thread." (6)

The book is completed with the praise of Allāh.
