Forgiving of their sins, Appreciative of their good deeds, 'Who has settled us in the home of duration out of His bounty.' He said: They have resided and shall not move, nor will they be moved. 'No toil will touch us therein, nor will fatigue touch us therein.' He said: The people used to toil in the world in obedience to Allah, and they were a people whom Allah tasked with a little, then gave them rest in great measure; so may it be pleasant for them.

His saying, the Almighty: 'No toil will touch us therein, nor will fatigue touch us therein.'

18001 - From 'Abd Allah ibn Abi Awfa (may God be pleased with him) he said: A man said: O Messenger of Allah, sleep is something by which Allah cools our eyes in the world, so is there sleep in Paradise? He said: "No, for sleep is the sibling of death, and there is no death in Paradise." He said: O Messenger of Allah, then what is their rest? The Prophet (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) considered that significant and said: "There is no fatigue therein; all of their affairs are rest." Then [the verse] was revealed: 'nor will fatigue touch us therein.'

18002 - From Ibn 'Abbas (may God be pleased with both of them) regarding His saying: 'fatigue' [lughub]—he said: Weariness.

His saying, the Almighty: 'And they will cry out therein.'

18003 - From Qatadah (may God be pleased with him) regarding His saying: 'And they will cry out therein'—he said: They will call for help therein.

His saying, the Almighty: 'Did We not grant you life enough for whoever would remember to remember? And the warner came to you.'

18004 - From Ibn 'Abbas (may God be pleased with both of them) that the Prophet (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) said: "When the Day of Resurrection occurs, it will be said: Where are those of sixty years? That is the age which Allah referred to [saying]: 'Did We not grant you life enough for whoever would remember to remember?'"

18005 - From Sahl ibn Sa'd (may God be pleased with him) he said: The Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) said: "Allah has left no excuse for a man whose life He has extended until he reaches sixty years."

18006 - My father narrated to us, [who said] Duhaym narrated to us, [who said] Ibn Abi Fudayk narrated to us, Ibrahim ibn al-Fadl al-Makhzumi narrated to me, from Ibn Abi Husayn al-Makki: that he narrated to him, from 'Ata'—he is Ibn Abi Rabah—from Ibn
