His saying, the Exalted: "And those who arrange themselves in ranks."

18127 - From various chains of narration, from Ibn Mas'ud, may Allah be pleased with him, regarding "And those who arrange themselves in ranks," he said: "The angels." Regarding "And those who drive the clouds in columns," he said: "The angels." Regarding "And those who recite the message," he said: "The angels."

His saying, the Exalted: "And those who drive the clouds in columns."

18128 - From al-Rabi' ibn Anas, may Allah be pleased with him, regarding His saying: "And those who drive the clouds in columns," he said: "Whatever Allah has forbidden in the Quran."

His saying, the Exalted: "And those who recite the message."

18129 - From Abu Salih, may Allah be pleased with him, regarding His saying: "And those who recite the message," he said: "The angels who come with the Book and the Quran from Allah to the people."

18130 - From Qatadah, may Allah be pleased with him, regarding His saying: "And those who arrange themselves in ranks," he said: "The angels in ranks in the sky." Regarding "And those who drive the clouds in columns," he said: "Whatever Allah has forbidden in the Quran." Regarding "And those who recite the message," he said: "What is recited in the Quran of the stories of the past nations." Regarding "Indeed, your God is One," he said: "The oath is made upon this."

His saying, the Exalted: "The Easts."

18131 - From al-Suddi, may Allah be pleased with him, he said: "The Easts are three hundred and sixty, and the Wests are the same. The sun rises every day from an East and sets in a West."

His saying, the Exalted: "And as protection."

18132 - From Qatadah, may Allah be pleased with him, regarding His saying: "And as protection," he said: "We made them as protection from every rebellious devil; they cannot listen to the Highest Assembly." He said: "They were prevented by them," meaning by the stars.
