"And Allah created you and that which you do," he said: He created you and created what you do with your hands. "So they planned against him a plan, and We made them the lowest." He said: Allah did not argue with them after that until He destroyed them. And he said: "Indeed, I am going to my Lord," he said: Going with his knowledge, his heart, and his intention.

18221 - From al-Hasan, he said: The people of Abraham, peace be upon him, went out for a festival of theirs and wanted Abraham, peace be upon him, to go out, so he lay on his back and said: "Indeed, I am ill," I cannot go out. And he began to look at the sky, and when they left, he turned to their idols and broke them.

His saying, the Almighty: "So they came toward him hastening."

18222 - From Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) regarding His saying: "So they came toward him hastening," he said: They are running.

His saying, the Almighty: "My Lord, grant me [a child] from among the righteous."

18223 - From al-Suddi, regarding His saying: "My Lord, grant me [a child] from among the righteous," he said: A righteous son.

His saying, the Almighty: "So We gave him good tidings of a forbearing boy."

18224 - From al-Hasan, regarding His saying: "So We gave him good tidings of a forbearing boy," he said: With the birth of Isaac, peace be upon him.

18225 - From Qatadah (may Allah be pleased with him), "So We gave him good tidings of a forbearing boy," he said: He was given good tidings of Isaac. He said: Allah did not praise anyone for forbearance except Abraham and Isaac, peace be upon them both.

18226 - From al-Sha'bi (may Allah be pleased with him) regarding His saying: "So We gave him good tidings of a forbearing boy," he said: He is Ishmael, peace be upon him. He said: And Allah gave him good tidings of the prophethood of Isaac after that.

His saying, the Almighty: "He reached with him [the age of] exertion."

18227 - From Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) regarding His saying: "He reached with him [the age of] exertion," he said: The work.

18228 - From Ikrimah (may Allah be pleased with him) regarding His saying: "And when he reached with him [the age of] exertion," he said: He attained work with him."
