and al-Awza'i: He should fast them from the first days of the ten [days of Dhu al-Hijjah]. 'Ata' held this opinion as well. 'Urwah said: He should fast them as long as he is in Makkah during the days of Mina, and this was also stated by Malik and a group of the people of Madinah.
