353: 1854: Abu al-Miqdam: 1: Imam Ahmad and the compilers of the Sunan narrated with a sahih (authentic) chain of transmission from al-Thawri, from Bukayr, from 'Ata', from 'Abd al-Rahman ibn Ma'mar al-Daylami, who said: I heard the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, saying: "The Hajj is 'Arafat"—[he said it] three times—"so whoever catches 'Arafat before the dawn rises, has indeed attained it. The days of Mina are three; so whoever hastens in two days, there is no sin upon him, and whoever remains, there is no sin upon him."

Authentic. It was narrated by al-Tirmidhi (no. 2975), who said: This is a hasan sahih hadith. It was also narrated by al-Darimi (2/59), al-Manthur (1/236), Ibn Hibban (1009), al-Tamhid (2/97, 9/277), Ibn Sa'd (2/1/129), Ibn Kathir (1/350), and al-Qurtubi (2/426, 3/2).

354: 1860: Al-Hums: 1: They are the Quraysh and their predecessors—see Tafsir 'Abd al-Razzaq (1/95) and Tafsir Ibn Kathir (1/242).

: 1862: The Imam: 2: The previous source for Ibn Kathir.

: 1864: 'Aqilni' (Relieve me): 3: For this reason, it is established in the Sahih: "That when the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, finished his prayer, he would ask Allah for forgiveness three times."

And in the Sahihayn: "That he recommended saying the Tasbih, Tahmid, and Takbir thirty-three times." Al-Bukhari also narrated from Shaddad ibn Aws, who said: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, said: "The master of seeking forgiveness is for the servant to say: O Allah, You are my Lord; there is no deity except You. You created me, and I am Your servant, and I am upon Your covenant and Your promise as much as I am able. I seek refuge in You from the evil of what I have done. I acknowledge Your favor upon me, and I acknowledge my sin, so forgive me, for there is no one who forgives sins except You."
