742: 4032: Other than you: 1: Al-Bukhari, al-Nasa'i, and others narrated from the hadith of a group, among them Yunus, Yahya ibn Sa'id, Musa ibn 'Uqbah, and Ibn Abi 'Atiq al-Zuhri, from Abu Salamah, from Abu Sa'id that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Allah did not send a prophet nor appoint a successor except that he had two inner circles: an inner circle that commands him to do good and encourages him to do it, and an inner circle that commands him to do evil and encourages him to do it. The one protected is he whom Allah protects." Narrated by Al-Bukhari (9/95), al-Nasa'i (7/158), Ahmad (3/39), al-Bayhaqi (10/111), Sharh al-Sunnah (10/74), al-Targhib (3/219), Mushkil (3/21, 22), Ibn Kathir (2/88), al-Kanz (14930), al-Qurtubi (4/179, 11/193), and al-Sahihah (1641).

743: 4039: Allies: 1: The Hafiz Abu Ya'la said: Ishaq ibn Isra'il narrated to us, Hushaym narrated to us, al-'Awwam narrated to us, from al-Azhar ibn Rashid who said: They used to come to Anas, and if he narrated a hadith to them that they did not understand, they would come to al-Hasan—meaning al-Basri—and he would interpret it for them. He said: So he narrated one day from the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) that he said: "Do not seek light from the fire of the polytheists, and do not engrave Arabic on your signet rings." Narrated by al-Nasa'i in (Al-Zinah, Chapter "48"), Ahmad (3/99), al-Bayhaqi (10/27), Al-Manthur (2/66), and al-Kanz (43759).
