1112: 6248: And his companions: 1: Ibn Jarir said: The most correct of these opinions is that no one among the People of the Scripture will remain after the descent of Jesus—peace be upon him—except that he will believe in him before the death of Jesus—peace be upon him. There is no doubt that what Ibn Jarir said is the correct view, because it is the intended meaning of the context of the verses in establishing the falsehood of what the Jews claimed regarding the killing and crucifixion of Jesus, and the acceptance of that by the ignorant Christians who followed them. Allah informed [us] that the matter was not as such, but rather it was made to appear so to them, so they killed the likeness [of him] while they were unaware of that. Then, He raised him unto Himself, and he remains alive, and he will descend before the Day of Resurrection.
