And Talkhis (4/126), al-Irwa' (5/111), al-Fath (11/39), al-Sahihah (704), Adhkar (226), and al-Mughni 'an Haml al-Asfar (2/201).

: 10032. Three (Thalathan): 2: al-Manthur: (3/228).

1781: 10044. Allah: 1: Tafsir Ibn Kathir: (2/348).

Ibn al-'Arabi said: In this, there is proof from the statement of our Lord (Blessed and Exalted is He) that there is no blame upon someone who informs about disbelief—other than that which no one is permitted to initiate—because he is only uttering it in the sense of regarding it as momentous and refuting it. If our Lord had willed, no one would have spoken of it. Thus, when tongues are enabled to utter it, it is a permission to inform about it in the sense of denouncing it with the heart and tongue, and refuting it with proof and demonstration.

1782: 10045. His son (Ibnuhu): 1: Tafsir Ibn Kathir: (2/348).

: 10047. Disbelieved (Kafaru): 2: Al-Qurtubi said in his interpretation of this verse: It is said: Its meaning is emphasis, just as He (the Almighty) said: "They write the Book with their own hands" [al-Baqarah: 79], and His saying: "Nor a bird that flies with its two wings" [al-An'am: 38], and His saying: "Then when the Trumpet is blown with a single blast" [al-Haqq: 13], and there are many examples of this. And it is said: The meaning is that since it was a naive statement containing neither clarification nor proof, and was merely a statement by the mouth—a mere claim with no correct meaning underlying it, for they themselves acknowledge that Allah (Exalted be He) has not taken a female companion, so how could they claim that He has a son?—it is therefore a lie and a mere verbal statement.
