1329: 7517: My Lord: 1: The saying of the Almighty: "He said, 'This is my Lord'"—there is a difference of opinion regarding its meaning based on several views. It was said: This took place during a period of reflection, in the state of childhood, and before the establishment of the proof; in that state, there is neither disbelief nor faith.

Those who hold this view argued based on what was narrated by Ali ibn Abi Talhah from Ibn Abbas, who said: "So when the night covered him, he saw a star; he said, 'This is my Lord.'" He worshipped it until it set upon him, and likewise with the sun and the moon. When his reflection was complete, he said: "Indeed, I am free from what you associate [with Allah]." (Tafsir al-Qurtubi: 4/2461).

1330: 7525: Performing Hajj: 1: It is established in the Two Sahihs (al-Bukhari and Muslim) from Abu Hurayrah, from the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, that he said: "Every newborn is born upon the Fitrah (natural disposition)."
