: 6544: War: 3: Imam Ahmad said: Affan narrated to us, Salam Abu al-Mundhir narrated to us, from Muhammad ibn Wasi', from 'Abdullah ibn al-Samit, from Abu Dharr, who said: "My beloved (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) commanded me with seven things: He commanded me to love the poor and to draw close to them; he commanded me to look at those who are beneath me and not to look at those who are above me; he commanded me to uphold the ties of kinship even if they turn away; he commanded me not to ask anyone for anything; he commanded me to speak the truth even if it is bitter; he commanded me not to fear the blame of any critic for the sake of Allah; and he commanded me to frequently say 'La hawla wa la quwwata illa billah' (There is no might nor power except with Allah), for they are from a treasure under the Throne."
