: 15991: The polytheists: 2: The previous source.

: 15995: They do not believe: 3: The saying of the Almighty: "In the hearts of the criminals. They do not believe in it." It is said: We have inserted denial into their hearts, and that is what prevented them from believing, as said by Yahya ibn Salam. Al-Farra' permitted the jussive mood (jazm) in "la yu'minun" (they do not believe) because it contains the meaning of condition and recompense (shart wa mujazah).

He claimed that it is the habit of the Arabs that when they place (la) in the position of (kay) in such a structure, they might put what follows it in the jussive mood and they might put it in the nominative mood. Thus, one says: "I tied the horse [lest it] escapes" (rabat-tu al-faras la yanfalit), both in the nominative (rafa') and the jussive (jazm), because its meaning is: if I do not tie it, it will escape; and the nominative is in the sense of: so that it does not escape (kayla yanfalit).

: 15996: Then he became miserable: 4: Authentic (Sahih). Narrated by Muslim (pp. 2068, 2069), Al-Tirmidhi (hadith no. 3487), Ahmad (3/107, 108, 209, 277), Al-Mishkat (4287), Sharh al-Sunnah (5/81, 183), Al-Bukhari in "Al-Adab al-Mufrad" (682), Al-Kanz (2902, 4904, 5107), Adhkar (111, 238), Ibn al-Sunni (200), Ibn Abi Shaybah (10, 248, 261), and Ibn 'Adi in "Al-Kamil" (3/1055).

2823: 16000: Its interpretation: 1: In the authentic hadith: "The disbeliever will be brought and dipped into the Fire once, then it will be said to him: Have you ever seen any good? Have you ever seen any bliss? He will say: No, by Allah, my Lord. And the person who was the most miserable of people in the world will be brought and dipped into Paradise once, then it will be said: Have you ever seen any misery? He will say: No, by Allah, my Lord." Tafsir Ibn Kathir: (3/348).

2824: 16003: Wrongdoers: 1: Al-Qurtubi said regarding the saying of the Almighty: "And We were not wrongdoers."
