Abu Ubaidah said: "Gharabib means intensely black; there is an inversion in the phrasing, and the meaning is: and of the mountains are black ones (gharabib). The Arabs say of something intensely black whose color is like that of a crow: 'aswad gharbib' (a jet-black thing)." Al-Jawhari said: "You say this is 'aswad gharbib', meaning intensely black. And if you say 'gharabib sud' (black crow-like things), you make 'sud' a substitute for 'gharabib', because the reinforcement of colors does not precede them." 3180: 17975: Before it: 1: Al-Manthur: (7/19). : 17976: Colors: 2: Previous source. : 17977: All-Powerful: 3: Al-Manthur: (7/19-20). : 17978: Fear: 4: Previous source. : 17979: Fear: 5: Previous source, and Al-Majma' (10/235), attributed to Al-Tabarani; its chain is good, except that 'Awn did not meet Ibn Mas'ud. : 17980: Allah: 6: Al-Manthur: (7/20). : 17981: The heart: 7: Previous source: (7/20-23). : 17982: The scholars: 8: Previous source: (7/20-23). 3181: 17983: For their good deeds: 1: Al-Manthur: (7/20). : 17984: Will not perish: 2: Previous source: (7/21). : 17985: Account: 3: Al-Manthur: (7/23). : 17986: The disbeliever: 4: Tafsir Ibn Kathir: (6/533), and he said: "This is gharib (strange) from this chain of transmission." : 17987: Paradise: 5: Weak, narrated by Al-Tirmidhi (H/3225) who said: "This is a gharib hadith from this chain of transmission."
