الترجمة · EN

the remainder of the year [is] seven months and twenty [days] as a bequest.

'Ata' said: If she wishes, she may observe the 'iddah among his family and reside within her bequest, and if she wishes, she may leave, due to the saying of Allah: "Then if they leave, there is no sin upon you for what they do with themselves."

2395 - I read to Muhammad b. al-Fadl, Muhammad b. 'Ali reported to us, Muhammad b. Muzahim reported to us, from Bukayr b. Ma'ruf, from Muqatil b. Hayyan, regarding His saying: "Without turning them out; then if they leave to their own families of their own accord, then they have no [right]." This was before the inheritance [verses] were revealed, so it abrogated the one-fourth of the inheritance if her husband had no child.

His saying (Exalted is He): "Then there is no sin upon you for what they do with themselves in an honorable manner, and Allah is Exalted in Might and Wise."

[The First Aspect]

2396 - Abu Sa'id al-Ashaj narrated to us, Abu Yahya al-Himmani reported to us, from Sufyan, from Ibn Jurayj, from Mujahid, regarding "then there is no sin upon you for what they do with themselves," he said: It is honorable marriage.

It was narrated from al-Suddi that he said: [It refers to] marriage.

[The Second Aspect]

2397 - Abu Zur'ah narrated to us, Yahya b. 'Abd Allah reported to us, 'Abd Allah b. Lahi'ah narrated to me, 'Ata' b. Dinar narrated to me, from Sa'id b. Jubayr, regarding the saying of Allah: "Then there is no sin upon you for what they do with themselves in an honorable manner," he said: This verse was revealed regarding the women whose husbands have died; He says: There is no sin upon them after the 'iddah regarding how they adorn and beautify themselves in seeking marriage.

2398 - 'Isam b. Rawwad narrated to us, Adam reported to us, Abu Ja'far reported to us, from al-Rabi', from Abu al-'Aliyah, regarding His saying: "And Allah is Exalted in Might and Wise," he says: Exalted in His vengeance when He exacts vengeance. Abu Muhammad said: Something similar to that was narrated from Qatadah and al-Rabi' b. Anas.

His saying: "Wise"

And from him, from Abu al-'Aliyah: "And Allah is Exalted in Might and Wise," he says: Wise in His command.

His saying: "And for the divorced women is provision in an honorable manner"

2399 - My father narrated to me, Abu Salih reported to us, Mu'awiyah b. Salih narrated to me, from 'Ali b. Abi Talhah, from Ibn 'Abbas, regarding His saying: "And for the divorced women is provision in an honorable manner." He said: This is the divorced woman whom he divorces...
