His saying: "And Allah is All-Seeing of what you do."
2769 - al-Hasan b. Ahmad narrated to us, Ishaq b. Isma'il reported to us, Yazid b. Zuray' reported to us, Sa'id reported to us, from Qatadah regarding His saying: "And Allah is All-Seeing of what you do." This is a parable Allah set forth for the deed of the believer. He says: "His good deed has no successor [or compensation], just as the good of this garden has no successor, in whatever state it may be, whether [it received] a downpour or a light rain."
His saying, the Exalted: "Would one of you like..."
2770 - My father narrated to us, Ahmad b. 'Abd al-Rahman reported to us, 'Abd Allah b. Ja'far reported to us, from his father, from al-Rabi', regarding His saying: "Would one of you like..." He says: Would any of you love to live in misguidance and sins until death comes to him, and he comes on the Day of Resurrection, having lost his deeds when he was most in need of them? So He says: "O son of Adam, you have come to Me when you were most in need of any good at all, so show me what you prepared for yourself."
His saying: "...that he should have a garden of palm trees and grapevines."
2771 - Hajjaj b. Hamzah narrated to us, Warqa' reported to us, from Ibn Abi Najih, from Mujahid, regarding His saying: "Would one of you like that he should have a garden," he said: A worldly life in which he does not act in obedience to Allah, like one who possesses gardens with rivers flowing beneath them; his state after his death is like the state of this one when his garden burned while he was old, and he could not derive any benefit from it, and his children were small, and they could not derive any benefit for him. Likewise, the negligent one, after death, everything is a cause of regret for him.

He says: He produced it in his youth.
2773 - My father narrated to us, Ibrahim b. Musa reported to us, Hisham b. Yusuf informed us, from Ibn Jurayj, he said: I heard 'Abd Allah b. Abi Mulaykah narrating from Ibn 'Abbas, and I heard Abu Bakr b. Abi Mulaykah narrating from 'Ubayd b. 'Umayr, who said: 'Umar said one day to the companions of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him): "About what do you think this verse was revealed: 'Would one of you like that he should have a garden?'" They said: "Allah knows best." So 'Umar became angry and said: "Say, we know, or we do not know." Then Ibn 'Abbas said...
