3383 - Kathir b. Shihab al-Madhhiji narrated to us, Muhammad b. Sa'id b. Sabiq reported to us, Abu Ja'far reported to us, from al-Rabi' b. Anas, from Abu al-'Aliyah regarding His saying: "Except that you protect yourselves from them as a precaution," he said: Precaution is with the tongue, not with action.
3384 - I read to Muhammad b. 'Abd Allah b. 'Abd al-Hakam, Ibn Wahb informed us, men from the people of knowledge reported to me, from 'Ata' b. Abi Rabah, that he did not consider the divorce of one under duress (mukrah) to be anything. Allah, the Exalted, says: "Except that you protect yourselves from them as a precaution."
Abu Muhammad said: It has been narrated from al-Dahhak and Jabir b. Zayd that he said: Taqiyyah is with the tongue.

3385 - Hajjaj b. Hamzah narrated to us, Shababah reported to us, Warqa' reported to us, from Ibn Abi Najih, from Mujahid regarding His saying: "Except that you protect yourselves from them as a precaution," [meaning] except through social maneuvering (musana'ah) in worldly matters and good treatment.

3386 - Al-Hasan b. Abi al-Rabi' narrated to us, 'Abd al-Razzaq informed us, Ma'mar informed us, from Qatadah regarding "Except that you protect yourselves from them as a precaution," he said: Except that there is kinship between you and him, so you uphold the ties of kinship with him for that reason.
His saying, the Exalted: "And Allah warns you of Himself"
3387 - 'Ali b. al-Husayn narrated to us, Abu Bakr Muhammad b. Yazid b. Khunays reported to us, he said: I heard my father say: I heard Sufyan al-Thawri say regarding "And Allah warns you of Himself," Sufyan said: It is out of His compassion for you that He warns you of Himself.
His saying, the Exalted: "And to Allah is the final destination"
3388 - My father narrated to us, Suwayd b. Sa'id reported to us, Muslim b. Khalid reported to us, from Ibn Abi Husayn, from 'Abd al-Rahman b. Sabit, from 'Amr b. Maymun al-Awdi, who said: Mu'adh b. Jabal stood up and said: You know that the return is to Allah, to either Paradise or the Fire.
