[His saying, the Exalted: "O Mary, be devoutly obedient to your Lord."]
[The first aspect]
3492 - Yunus b. 'Abd al-A'la narrated to us, Ibn Wahb reported to us, 'Amr b. al-Harith informed me that Darraj Abu al-Samh narrated to him, from Abu al-Haytham, from Abu Sa'id al-Khudri, from the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) who said: "Every occurrence of the word 'al-qunut' (devotion) in the Quran refers to obedience."
And the second aspect:
3493 - Muhammad b. 'Ammar narrated to us, 'Abd al-Rahman (meaning: al-Dashtaki) reported to us, Abu Ja'far (meaning: al-Razi) informed us, from al-Rabi' b. Anas, from Abu al-'Aliyah regarding: "O Mary, be devoutly obedient to your Lord," meaning: Stand still for your Lord.
3494 - Abu Sa'id al-Ashaj narrated to us, Ibn Idris reported to us, from Layth, from Mujahid regarding His saying: "O Mary, be devoutly obedient to your Lord," he said: She would stand until her heels became swollen.
And the third aspect:
3495 - al-Hasan b. Ahmad narrated to us, Musa b. Muhkam reported to us, Abu Bakr al-Hanafi reported to us, 'Abbad b. Mansur reported to us, he said: I asked al-Hasan about His saying: "O Mary, be devoutly obedient to your Lord and prostrate," he said: He says: Worship your Lord.
His saying, the Exalted: "And prostrate."
3496 - My father narrated to us, Musa b. Ayyub al-Nasibi reported to us, al-Walid reported to us, from 'Abd al-Rahman b. 'Amr al-Awza'i regarding His saying: "O Mary, be devoutly obedient to your Lord and prostrate," he said: She remained in her prayer niche standing, bowing, and prostrating until yellow water (serum) descended upon her feet.
His saying, the Exalted: "And bow with those who bow."
3497 - And with the same chain from al-Awza'i regarding His saying: "And bow with those who bow," he said: She remained in her prayer niche standing until yellow water (serum) descended upon her feet.
His saying, the Exalted: "That is from the news of the unseen which We reveal to you."
3498 - Abu Bakr b. Abi Musa narrated to us, Harun b. Hatim reported to us, 'Abd al-Rahman
