His saying, the Exalted: "That I design for you out of clay the form of a bird, then I breathe into it and it becomes a bird by permission of Allah."
3540 - 'Ali b. al-Mubarak informed us in what he wrote to me, Zayd b. al-Mubarak reported to us, Ibn Thawr reported to us, from Ibn Jurayj regarding His saying: "That I design for you out of clay the form of a bird," they said: Meaning, which bird is most firmly created, so that he may design accordingly.
His saying, the Exalted: "Then I breathe into it."
3541 - My father narrated to us, al-Hasan b. al-Rabi' reported to us, 'Abd Allah b. Idris reported to us, Muhammad b. Ishaq reported to us, who said: Then Allah placed at his hands—meaning 'Isa (Jesus)—matters that point through him to His power in resurrecting; resurrecting whom He wills to resurrect after death, and creating what He wills to create of things, whether seen or unseen. So He made him breathe into the clay, and it becomes a bird by the permission of Allah.
[His saying, the Exalted: "And I heal the blind and the leper, and I give life to the dead, by permission of Allah."]
[The first interpretation]
3542 - Abu Zur'ah narrated to us, Minjab b. al-Harith reported to us, Bishr b. 'Umarah informed us, from Abu Rawq, from al-Dahhak, from Ibn 'Abbas, regarding His saying: "And I heal the blind and the leper," he said: The akmah (blind) is he who is born blind. Abu Muhammad said: The like of this has been narrated from al-Hasan, al-Dahhak, al-Suddi, and Qatadah.
3543 - Al-Husayn b. al-Hasan narrated to us, Ibrahim—meaning al-Harawi—reported to us, Hajjaj informed us, 'Uthman b. 'Ata' narrated to me, from his father, from Ibn 'Abbas, who said: The akmah is the blind and the one whose eye is smooth (wiped smooth).

3544 - Ya'qub b. 'Ubayd al-Nahratiri narrated to us, Abu 'Asim informed us, 'Isa—meaning Ibn Maymun b. Dayah—informed us, from Ibn Abi Najih, from Mujahid, who said: The akmah is the one who suffers from night blindness (yatakammuh); he who sees by day but does not see by night.

3545 - My father narrated to me, Nasr b. 'Ali reported to us, Hafs b. 'Umar informed us, from al-Hakam b. Aban, from 'Ikrimah, regarding "And I heal the blind," he said: The one with weak vision (al-a'mash).

قَولُهُ تَعَالَى: أَنِّي أَخْلُقُ لَكُم مِّنَ الطِّينِ كَهَيْئَةِ الطَّيْرِ فَأَنْفُخُ فِيهِ فَيَكُونُ طَيْرًا بِإِذْنِ اللَّهَ
٣٥٤٠ - أَخْبَرَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ الْمُبَارَكِ فِيمَا كَتَبَ إِلَيَّ، ثنا زَيْدُ بْنُ الْمُبَارَكِ، ثنا ابْنُ ثَوْرٍ، عن ابن جريج في قوله: أَنِّي أَخْلُقُ لَكُم مِّنَ الطِّينِ كَهَيْئَةِ الطَّيْرِ قَالُوا: أى طير أَشَدُّ خَلْقًا لِيَخْلُقَ عَلَيْهِ.

٣٥٤١ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي، ثنا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ الرَّبِيعِ، ثنا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ إِدْرِيسَ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ قَالَ: ثُمَّ جَعَلَ اللَّهُ عَلَى يَدَيْهِ يَعْنِي: عِيسَى أُمُورًا تَدُلُّ بِهِ عَلَى قُدْرَتِهِ فِي بَعْثِهِ، بَعَثِ مَنْ يُرِيدُ أَنْ يَبْعَثَ بَعْدَ الْمَوْتِ، وَخَلْقِهِ مَا يَشَاءُ أَنْ يَخْلُقَ مِنْ شَيْءٍ، يَرَى أَوْ لَا يَرَى فَجَعَلَهُ يَنْفُخُ فِي الطِّينِ فَيَكُونُ طَيْرًا بِإِذْنِ اللَّهِ.

٣٥٤٢ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو زُرْعَةَ، ثنا مِنْجَابُ بْنُ الْحَارِثِ، أَنْبَأَ بِشْرُ بْنُ عُمَارَةَ عَنْ أَبِي رَوْقٍ عَنِ الضَّحَّاكِ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ فِي قَوْلِهِ: وَأُبْرِئُ الأَكْمَهَ وَالأَبْرَصَ قَالَ: الأَكْمَهُ:
الَّذِي يُولَدُ وَهُوَ أَعْمَى. قَالَ أَبُو مُحَمَّدٍ: وَرُوِيَ عَنِ الْحَسَنِ وَالضَّحَّاكِ، وَالسُّدِّيِّ وَقَتَادَةَ «١» نَحْوُ ذَلِكَ.
٣٥٤٣ - حَدَّثَنَا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ، ثنا إِبْرَاهِيمُ يَعْنِي الْهَرَوِيَّ، أنبأ حَجَّاجٌ، حَدَّثَنِي عُثْمَانُ بْنِ عَطَاءٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ: الأَكْمَهُ الأَعْمَى وَالْمَمْسُوحُ الْعَيْنِ.
وَالْوَجْهُ الثَّانِي:
٣٥٤٤ - حَدَّثَنَا يَعْقُوبُ بْنُ عُبَيْدِ النَّهْرَتِيرِيُّ، أَنْبَأَ أَبُو عَاصِمٍ، أَنْبَأَ عِيسَى يَعْنِي ابْنَ مَيْمُونِ بْنِ دَايَةَ، عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي نَجِيحٍ، عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ قَالَ: الأَكْمَهُ: الَّذِي يَتَكَمَّهُ بِاللَّيْلِ، الَّذِي يُبْصِرُ بِالنَّهَارِ وَلا يُبْصِرُ بِاللَّيْلِ.
وَالْوَجْهُ الثَّالِثُ:
٣٥٤٥ - حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي، ثنا نَصْرُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ، أنبأ حَفْصُ بْنُ عُمَرَ، عَنِ الحكم ابن أَبَانَ، عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ وَأُبْرِئُ الأَكْمَهَ قال: الأَعْمَشَ.
