2338 - Abu Zur'ah narrated to us, Muhammad b. al-Muthanna reported to us, Mu'adh b. Mu'adh reported to us, from Ibn 'Awn, from Muhammad b. Sirin, who said: I asked 'Ubaydah about this verse: "Except that you say a word known," he said: That he says to her guardian: Do not forestall me with her. Meaning: Do not marry her off until you inform me.
His saying, Exalted is He: "And do not decide upon the marriage contract"
[The First Aspect]
2339 - Abu Sa'id al-Ashajj narrated to us, 'Ubayd Allah b. Musa reported to us, from Isra'il, from al-Suddi, from Abu Malik, regarding his saying: "And do not decide upon the marriage contract until the book reaches its end," he said: Do not make a promise to her during her waiting period: "I will marry you," until her waiting period has expired. It is narrated from Zayd b. Aslam, the like of that.
The Second Aspect:
2340 - My father narrated to us, Ibrahim b. Musa reported to us, Hisham b. Yusuf informed us, from Ibn Jurayj, from 'Ata' al-Khurasani, from Ibn 'Abbas: "And do not decide upon the marriage contract," he said: Do not marry. It is narrated from Muqatil b. Hayyan and al-Hasan, the like of that.
His saying, Exalted is He: "Until the book reaches its end"
2341 - My father narrated to us, Ibrahim b. Musa reported to us, Hisham b. Yusuf reported to us, from Ibn Jurayj, from 'Ata' al-Khurasani, from Ibn 'Abbas: "Until the book reaches its end," he said: Until the waiting period has expired. It is narrated from al-Hasan, Mujahid, Abu Malik, al-Dahhak, al-Sha'bi, al-Rabi' b. Anas, Zayd b. Aslam, al-Suddi, Qatadah, Muqatil b. Hayyan, al-Zuhri, and 'Ata' al-Khurasani, the like of that.
His saying, Exalted is He: "And know that Allah knows what is in your souls, so beware of Him, and know that Allah is Forgiving, Forbearing"
2342 - I read to Muhammad b. al-Fadl, Muhammad b. 'Ali reported to us, Abu Wahb reported to us, from Bukayr b. Ma'ruf, from Muqatil b. Hayyan, regarding his saying: "And know that Allah knows what is in your souls, so beware of Him," i.e., beware of committing His disobedience, "and know that Allah is Forgiving, Forbearing."

٢٣٣٨ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو زُرْعَةَ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى، ثنا مُعَاذُ بْنُ مُعَاذٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَوْنٍ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ سِيرِينَ، قَالَ: سَأَلْتُ عَبِيدَةَ عَنْ هَذِهِ الآيَةِ: إِلا أَنْ تَقُولُوا قَوْلا مَعْرُوفًا قَالَ: أَنْ يَقُولَ لِوَلِيِّهَا: لَا تَسْبِقْنِي بِهَا. يَعْنِي: لَا تُزَوِّجْهَا حَتَّى تُعَلِمَنِي.
قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: ولا تعزموا عقدة النكاح

٢٣٣٩ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو سَعِيدٍ الأَشَجُّ، ثنا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُوسَى، عَنْ إِسْرَائِيلَ، عَنِ السُّدِّيِّ، عَنْ أَبِي مَالِكٍ، قَوْلُهُ: وَلا تَعْزِمُوا عُقْدَةَ النِّكَاحِ حَتَّى يَبْلُغَ الْكِتَابُ أَجَلَهُ قَالَ: لَا تُوَاعِدْهَا فِي عِدَّتِهَا: إِنِّي أَتَزَوَّجُكِ، حَتَّى تَنْقَضِيَ عِدَّتُهَا. وَرُوِيَ عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ أَسْلَمَ، نَحْوُ ذَلِكَ.

قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: وَاعْلَمُوا أَنَّ اللَّهَ يَعْلَمُ مَا فِي أَنْفُسِكُمْ فَاحْذَرُوهُ وَاعْلَمُوا أَنَّ اللَّهَ غَفُورٌ حَلِيمٌ
٢٣٤٢ - قَرَأْتُ عَلَى مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الْفَضْلِ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ، ثنا أَبُو وَهْبٍ، عَنْ بُكَيْرِ بْنِ مَعْرُوفٍ، عَنْ مُقَاتِلِ بْنِ حَيَّانَ، قَوْلُهُ: وَاعْلَمُوا أَنَّ اللَّهَ يَعْلَمُ مَا فِي أَنْفُسِكُمْ فاحذروه أن تركبوا معصيته واعلموا أن الله غفور حليم
