His saying, the Exalted: "And Allah is Seeing of what they do."
4461 - And through the same chain from Sa'id ibn Jubayr regarding the saying of Allah: "And Allah is Seeing of what they do," meaning: Seeing of who among you misappropriated and who did not misappropriate.
His saying, the Exalted: "Certainly did Allah confer [great] favor upon the believers."
4462 - Muhammad ibn al-'Abbas narrated to us, Muhammad ibn 'Amr Zunayj narrated to us, Salamah narrated to us, Ibn Ishaq said regarding His saying: "Certainly did Allah confer [great] favor upon the believers," he said: i.e., certainly did Allah confer favor upon you, O people of faith.
4463 - Muhammad ibn Yahya narrated to us, al-'Abbas informed us, Yazid narrated to us, Sa'id narrated to us, from Qatadah regarding His saying: "Certainly did Allah confer [great] favor upon the believers," he said: The favor of Allah is immense, without any invocation or desire from this nation; Allah made it a mercy for them to bring them out of the darkness into the light and guide them to a straight path.
His saying, the Exalted: "When He sent among them a Messenger from themselves."
4464 - My father narrated to us, Ibrahim ibn Musa narrated to us, Hisham ibn Yusuf informed us, from 'Abd Allah ibn Sulayman al-Nawfali, from al-Zuhri, from 'Urwah, from 'Aishah: regarding this verse: "Certainly did Allah confer [great] favor upon the believers when He sent among them a Messenger from themselves," she said: This is specifically the Arabs.
His saying, the Exalted: "Reciting to them His verses."
4465 - Muhammad ibn al-'Abbas, the freed slave of Banu Hashim, narrated to us, Muhammad ibn 'Amr narrated to us, Salamah ibn al-Fadl narrated to us, who said: Muhammad ibn Ishaq said regarding His saying: "Reciting to them His verses and purifying them," he said: Reciting to you His verses and purifying you for what you have brought about.
His saying, the Exalted: "And purifying them."
4466 - My father narrated to us, Abu Salih, the scribe of al-Layth, narrated to us, Mu'awiyah ibn Salih narrated to me, from 'Ali ibn Abi Talhah, from Ibn 'Abbas regarding His saying: "And purifying them," meaning: purification is obedience to Allah and sincerity.
