[His saying, the Exalted: "And teaches them the Book"]

4467 - Al-Hasan ibn Muhammad ibn al-Sabah narrated to us, Asbat ibn Muhammad narrated to us, from al-Hudhali, from al-Hasan regarding His saying: "And teaches them the Book and Wisdom," he said: The Book is the Qur'an. A similar report was narrated from Yahya ibn Abi Kathir and Muqatil ibn Hayyan.
4468 - Muhammad ibn al-'Abbas, the freed slave of Banu Hashim, narrated to us, Zunayj narrated to us, Salamah narrated to us, Muhammad ibn Ishaq said regarding "And teaches them the Book and Wisdom," he said: And He teaches you the good and the evil so that you may recognize the good and act upon it, and the evil so that you may avoid it, and He informs you of His pleasure with you when you obey Him, and so that you may increase in your obedience to Him and avoid that which incurs His displeasure from your disobedience to Him.
And the second interpretation:
4469 - 'Ali ibn al-Husayn narrated to us, Muhammad ibn al-'Ala' said, Yunus ibn Bukayr narrated to us, from Matar ibn Maymun, from 'Ikrimah, from Ibn 'Abbas regarding His saying: "The Book," he said: Writing with the pen.

4470 - Abu Sa'id al-Ashajj and al-Hasan ibn Muhammad ibn al-Sabah narrated to us, saying: Asbat ibn Muhammad narrated to us, from al-Hudhali, from al-Hasan regarding the saying of Allah the Exalted: "And teaches them the Book and Wisdom," he said: Wisdom is the Sunnah. A similar report was narrated from Abu Malik, Muqatil ibn Hayyan, Yahya ibn Kathir, and Qatadah.
And the second interpretation:
4471 - Ahmad ibn 'Uthman ibn Hakim narrated to us, Ahmad ibn Mufaddal narrated to us, Asbat narrated to us, from al-Suddi regarding His saying: "And Wisdom," meaning: Prophethood.
And the third interpretation:
4472 - 'Ali ibn al-Husayn narrated to us, Abu Hammam narrated to us, Ibn Wahb narrated to us, Ibn Zayd ibn Aslam narrated to me, from his father: Wisdom is the intellect in religion.
His saying, the Exalted: "And indeed, they had been before in manifest error."
4473 - Muhammad ibn Yahya narrated to us, al-'Abbas informed us, Yazid narrated to us, Sa'id narrated to us, from Qatadah regarding His saying: "And indeed, they had been before in manifest error," he said: It is not, by Allah, as the people of Harura' say.

٤٤٦٧ - حَدَّثَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الصَّبَّاحِ، ثنا أَسْبَاطُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ، عَنِ الْهُذَلِيِّ، عَنِ الْحَسَنِ فِي قَوْلِهِ: وَيُعَلِّمُهُمُ الْكِتَابَ وَالْحِكْمَةَ قَالَ: الْكِتَابُ: الْقُرْآنُ- وَرُوِيَ عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ أَبِي كَثِيرٍ، وَمُقَاتِلِ بْنِ حَيَّانَ نَحْوُ ذَلِكَ.
٤٤٦٨ - حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْعَبَّاسِ مَوْلَى بَنِي هَاشِمٍ، ثنا زُنَيْجٌ، ثنا سَلَمَةُ، قَالَ مُحَمَّدُ ابن إِسْحَاقَ: وَيُعَلِّمُهُمُ الْكِتَابَ وَالْحِكْمَةَ قَالَ: وَيُعَلِّمُكُمُ الْخَيْرَ وَالشَّرَّ لِتَعْرَفُوا الْخَيْرَ فَتَعْمَلُوا بِهِ، وَالشَّرَّ فَتَتَّقُوا، وَيُخْبِرَكُمْ بِرِضَاهُ عَنْكُمْ إِذَا أَطَعْتُمُوهُ، وَلِتَسْتَكْثِرُوا مِنْ طَاعَتِهِ، وَتَجْتَنِبُوا مَا يُسْخِطُهُ عَنْكُمْ مِنْ مَعْصِيَتِهِ.
وَالْوَجْهُ الثَّانِي:
٤٤٦٩ - حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ الْحُسَيْنِ قَالَ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْعَلاءِ، ثنا يُونُسُ بْنُ بُكَيْرٍ، عَنْ مطر ابن مَيْمُونٍ، عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَوْلُهُ: الْكِتَابَ قَالَ: الْخَطَّ بِالْقَلَمِ.
قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: وَالْحِكْمَةَ

٤٤٧٠ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو سَعِيدٍ الأَشَجُّ وَالْحَسَنُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الصَّبَّاحِ قَالا: ثنا أَسْبَاطُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ، عَنِ الْهُذَلِيِّ، عَنِ الْحَسَنِ فِي قَوْلِ اللَّهِ تَعَالَى: وَيُعَلِّمُهُمُ الْكِتَابَ وَالْحِكْمَةَ قَالَ: الْحِكْمَةُ: السُّنَّةِ، وَرُوِيَ عَنْ أَبِي مَالِكٍ، وَمُقَاتِلِ بْنِ حَيَّانَ، وَيَحْيَى بْنِ كَثِيرٍ، وَقَتَادَةَ نَحْوُ ذَلِكَ.
وَالْوَجْهُ الثَّانِي:
٤٤٧١ - حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ حَكِيمٍ، ثنا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مُفَضَّلٍ، ثنا أَسْبَاطٌ عَنِ السُّدِّيِّ قَوْلَهُ: والحكمة: يَعْنِي النُّبُوَّةَ.
وَالْوَجْهُ الثَّالِثُ:
٤٤٧٢ - حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ الْحُسَيْنِ، ثنا أَبُو هَمَّامٍ، ثنا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ، حَدَّثَنِي ابْنُ زَيْدِ بْنِ أَسْلَمَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ الْحِكْمَةَ الْعَقْلُ فِي الدِّينِ.
قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: وَإِنْ كَانُوا مِنْ قَبْلُ لَفِي ضَلالٍ مُبِينٌ
