مجلد 3 · صفحة 115قوله تعالى: من بعد ما أصابهم القرح

الترجمة · EN

Abu Sufyan had returned, and Allah had cast terror into his heart. So, who will volunteer to pursue him?" The Prophet (peace be upon him), Abu Bakr, ‘Umar, ‘Uthman, ‘Ali, and a group of the companions of the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) stood up and followed them. It reached Abu Sufyan that the Prophet (peace be upon him) was pursuing him, so he encountered a caravan of merchants and said: "Turn Muhammad back, and you shall have such-and-such, and inform them that I have gathered forces for them and that I am returning to them." The merchants came and informed the Prophet (peace be upon him) of that, so the Prophet (peace be upon him) said: "Allah is sufficient for us." Thus, Allah the Exalted revealed: "Those who responded to Allah and the Messenger after injury had afflicted them."

His saying, the Exalted: "After injury had afflicted them."

4513 - Muhammad ibn Yahya narrated to us, al-‘Abbas informed us, Yazid ibn Zuray‘ narrated to us, Sa‘id narrated to us, from Qatadah regarding His saying: "For those who did good among them and feared Allah is a great reward." He said: That was on the day of Uhud after the killing and the wounding, and after the polytheists, Abu Sufyan, and his companions had departed. The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: "Is there no band that will volunteer for the command of Allah and pursue its enemy?"

His saying, the Exalted: "For those who did good among them and feared Allah."

4514 - My father narrated to us, Ibn ‘Umar al-‘Adani narrated to us, Sufyan said: ‘Amr said: Ibn ‘Abbas said: Separate between them, His saying: "For those who did good among them and feared Allah is a great reward," [and] "Those to whom the people said..."

His saying, the Exalted: "A great reward."

4515 - My father narrated to us, Muhammad ibn ‘Abd Allah ibn Numayr narrated to us, Abu Khalid al-Ahmar narrated to us, from Dawud ibn Abi Hind, from ‘Ali ibn Zayd, from Abu ‘Uthman, from Abu Hurayrah regarding "a great reward," he said: Paradise. This was also narrated from al-Hasan, Sa‘id ibn Jubayr, ‘Ikrimah, al-Dahhak, and Qatadah similarly.

His saying, the Exalted: "Those to whom the people said."

4516 - My father narrated to us, Abu Salamah narrated to us, Mubarak narrated to us, al-Hasan narrated to us, regarding His saying: "Those to whom the people said," al-Hasan said: The merchants.
