And the Third Aspect:
4536 - Muhammad ibn ‘Ammar narrated to us, al-Walid ibn Salih narrated to us, Sharik narrated to us, from ‘Ata’, from Sa‘id ibn Jubayr, regarding His saying: "It is only Satan who frightens his allies," he means: the polytheists, he frightens them with the Muslims, and that was on the day of Badr.
4537 - Muhammad ibn Yahya narrated to us, al-‘Abbas informed us, Yazid narrated to us, Sa‘id narrated to us, from Qatadah regarding His saying: "It is only Satan who frightens his allies," he said: He frightens—by Allah—the believer with the disbeliever, and he strikes terror with the believer into the disbeliever.
His saying, the Exalted: "His allies"
4538 - Hajjaj narrated to us, Shababah narrated to us, Warqa’ narrated to us, from Ibn Abi Najih, from Mujahid, regarding His saying: "His allies," he said: His allies [are] the devils.
His saying, the Exalted: "So fear them not, but fear Me"
4539 - Al-Hasan ibn Ahmad narrated to us, Musa ibn Muhkam narrated to us, Abu Bakr al-Hanafi narrated to us, ‘Abbad ibn Mansur narrated to us, he said: I asked al-Hasan about His saying: "So fear them not, but fear Me, if you are believers." He said: This was the frightening of Satan, and no one fears Satan except the ally of Satan.
4540 - Muhammad ibn al-‘Abbas narrated to us, Muhammad ibn ‘Amr narrated to us, Salamah narrated to us, Muhammad ibn Ishaq said: "It is only Satan who frightens his allies, so fear them not, but fear Me, if you are believers," meaning: regarding that group and what Satan has cast upon their tongues—"frightens his allies," meaning: he strikes terror into you with his allies, "so fear them not, but fear Me, if you are believers."
4541 - Mahmud ibn Adam al-Marwudhi informed us, in what he wrote to me, he said: I heard al-Nadr ibn Shumayl saying: The interpretation of "believer" is: that he is secure from the punishment of Allah.
His saying, the Exalted: "And let not those who hasten into disbelief grieve you"

4542 - Hajjaj ibn Hamzah narrated to us, Shababah narrated to us, Warqa’ narrated to us, from Ibn Abi Najih, from Mujahid, regarding His saying: "And let not those who hasten into disbelief grieve you," he said: They are the disbelievers.
