[The Fourth Aspect]

5446 - Muhammad ibn Sa'd al-'Awfi informed us in what he wrote to me, my paternal uncle narrated to me, my father narrated to me, from his father, from Ibn 'Abbas, regarding His saying: "They believe in al-Jibt," he said: "Al-Jibt is the idols." And regarding His saying also: "Al-Jibt is Huyayy ibn Akhtab."

[The Fifth Aspect]

5447 - Abu Sa'id al-Ashajj narrated to us, 'Uqbah narrated to us, from Hanash ibn al-Harith, who said: I heard al-Sha'bi say: "Al-Jibt is the soothsayer." It was also narrated from Sa'id ibn Jubayr in one of the narrations, and from al-Dahhak, Yahya ibn Abi Kathir, and Khusayf that they said: "Al-Jibt is the soothsayer."

[The Sixth Aspect]

5448 - My father narrated to us, Yahya ibn al-Mughirah narrated to us, Jarir informed us, from Layth, from Mujahid, regarding His saying: "In al-Jibt," he said: "Al-Jibt is Ka'b ibn al-Ashraf."

[The First Aspect]

5449 - Abu Sa'id al-Ashajj narrated to us, Waki' narrated to us, from Sufyan; and Yunus ibn Habib narrated to us, Abu Dawud narrated to us, Shu'bah narrated to us, from Abu Ishaq, from Hassan ibn Fa'id, from 'Umar who said: "Al-Taghut is the devil." It was also narrated from Ibn 'Abbas, Abu al-'Aliyah, al-Sha'bi, Mujahid, 'Ata', al-Hasan, Sa'id ibn Jubayr, 'Ikrimah, al-Dahhak, and al-Suddi something similar to that.

[The Second Aspect]

5450 - My father narrated to us, Abu Salih narrated to us, Mu'awiyah ibn Salih narrated to me, from 'Ali ibn Abi Talhah, from Ibn 'Abbas regarding His saying: "Al-Taghut," he said: "Ka'b ibn al-Ashraf." It was also narrated from 'Atiyyah and Qatadah something similar to that.

[The Third Aspect]

5451 - Muhammad ibn Sa'd al-'Awfi informed us in what he wrote to me, my father narrated to me, my paternal uncle al-Husayn narrated to me, my father narrated to me, from his father, from Ibn 'Abbas regarding His saying: "Al-Taghut," he said: "Al-Taghut is that which is before the idols, through which they express falsehood in order to lead people astray."
