So Allah, the Exalted, revealed: "Have you not seen those who were given a portion of the Scripture, believing in al-Jibt and al-Taghut, and saying to those who disbelieve: These are more rightly guided in way than those who believe."

He said: "The Jews say that. They say: 'Quraysh is more rightly guided than Muhammad and his companions.'"
His saying, the Exalted: "They are the ones whom Allah has cursed; and he whom Allah curses, you will never find for him a helper."
5459 - My father narrated to us, 'Abd al-'Aziz ibn al-Mughirah narrated to us, Yazid ibn Zuray' informed us, from Sa'id, from Qatadah, who said: It was mentioned to us that this verse was revealed regarding Ka'b ibn al-Ashraf and Huyayy ibn Akhtab—two men of the Jews from Banu al-Nadir—when they met the Quraysh at the season (of pilgrimage). The polytheists said to them: "Are we better guided or Muhammad and his companions?" So Allah, the Exalted, revealed: "They are the ones whom Allah has cursed; and he whom Allah curses, you will never find for him a helper."
His saying, the Exalted: "Or have they a share of the dominion?"

Then [if they did], they would not give the people [even as much as] a naqir (speck on a date seed)." He says: "If they had a share of dominion, they would not have given Muhammad a naqir."
5461 - 'Ali ibn al-Husayn narrated to us, Yazid ibn 'Abd al-'Aziz narrated to us, Muslim narrated to us, from Ibn Abi Najih, from Mujahid, regarding His saying: "Or have they a share of the dominion?" He said: "They have no share of the dominion, and if they did have a share, they would not give the people a naqir."
5462 - Ahmad ibn 'Uthman ibn Hakim al-Awdi narrated to us, Ahmad ibn Mufaddal narrated to us, Asbat narrated to us, from al-Suddi, regarding His saying: "Then [if they did], they would not give the people [even as much as] a naqir." He says: "Then they would not have given Muhammad a naqir."
His saying, the Exalted: "Naqir (a speck)."
[The First Aspect]

Similar to this was narrated from Abu Malik, Mujahid, al-Dahhak, and al-Suddi.
