[His saying, the Exalted: "or go forth all together"]
[The first interpretation]
5584 - My father narrated to us, Abu Salih narrated to us, Mu'awiyah ibn Salih narrated to me, from 'Ali ibn Abi Talhah, from Ibn 'Abbas, regarding His saying: "or go forth all together," meaning: all of you.
5585 - My father narrated to us, Abu Salih, the scribe of al-Layth, narrated to us, al-Layth narrated to us, from Muslim ibn Hayyan al-Hudhali, regarding: "or go forth all together," he said: Once.
And the second interpretation:
5586 - Ahmad ibn 'Uthman ibn Hakim al-Awdi narrated to us, Ahmad ibn Mufaddal narrated to us, Asbat narrated to us, from al-Suddi: "or go forth all together" with the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him.
His saying, the Exalted: "And indeed, among you is he who lingers behind."
5587 - Hajjaj ibn Hamzah narrated to us, Shababah narrated to us, Warqa' narrated to us, from Ibn Abi Najih, from Mujahid, regarding His saying: "And indeed, among you is he who lingers behind," he said: Regarding the hypocrite.
His saying, the Exalted: "who lingers behind"
5588 - And by the same chain from Muqatil ibn Hayyan, regarding His saying: "And indeed, among you is he who lingers behind," he says: And indeed, among you is he who will lag behind from Jihad.
His saying, the Exalted: "Then if there should strike you a disaster"
5589 - And by the same chain from Muqatil, regarding His saying: "Then if there should strike you a disaster," from the enemy, and hardship in life.
His saying, the Exalted: "He would say, 'Allah has bestowed favor upon me in that I was not present with them.'"
5590 - My father narrated to us, 'Abd al-'Aziz ibn al-Mughirah narrated to us, Yazid ibn Zuray' informed us, from Sa'id, from Qatadah, regarding His saying: "Allah has bestowed favor upon me in that I was not present with them," he said: This is the saying of one who denies.
5591 - I read to Muhammad, Muhammad narrated to us, Muhammad narrated to us, from Bukayr ibn Ma'ruf, from Muqatil, regarding His saying: "He would say, 'Allah has bestowed favor upon me in that I was not present with them,'" he said: The enemy of Allah, 'Abd Allah ibn Ubayy, said: "Allah has bestowed favor upon me in that I was not present with them," so that there does not befall me the likes of what befell them of trials and severity.
