His saying, the Almighty: "You desire the goods of worldly life."
5830 - Muhammad ibn 'Abd Allah ibn Yazid al-Muqri' narrated to us, Sufyan ibn 'Uyaynah narrated to us, from 'Amr ibn Dinar, from 'Ata', from Ibn 'Abbas regarding His saying: "You desire the goods of worldly life," he said: That is the booty. It was narrated from Sa'id ibn Jubayr and Masruq the like of that.
5831 - Muhammad ibn Sa'd al-'Awfi informed us in what he wrote to me, my uncle narrated to us, my father narrated to me, from his father, from Ibn 'Abbas regarding His saying: "You desire the goods of worldly life," meaning: You kill him, wanting to make lawful for yourselves his wealth which was found with him, and that is the goods of the worldly life.
His saying, the Almighty: "For with Allah are many spoils."
5832 - With the same chain of transmission from Ibn 'Abbas regarding "For with Allah are many spoils," he said: For I have many spoils, so seek from the bounty of Allah.
5833 - And from Qays ibn Salim, from Sa'id ibn Jubayr: "For with Allah are many spoils," they are more lawful for you than this.
His saying, the Almighty: "Thus were you before."
5834 - Al-Ahmasi narrated to us, Waki' narrated to us, from Sufyan, from Habib ibn Abi 'Amra, from Sa'id ibn Jubayr regarding: "Thus were you before, concealing [your faith]," he said: They were hiding your faith among the polytheists.
5835 - Al-Hasan ibn Abi al-Rabi' narrated to us, 'Abd al-Razzaq informed us, from Ibn Jurayj, 'Abd Allah ibn Kathir informed me, from Sa'id ibn Jubayr regarding His saying: "Thus were you before, concealing your faith as this shepherd concealed his faith."
5836 - 'Ali ibn al-Husayn narrated to us, 'Uthman ibn Abi Shayba narrated to us, Abu Ahmad narrated to us, Sufyan narrated to us, from Mansur, from Abu al-Duha, from Masruq: "Thus were you before, you were not believers, then Allah conferred favor upon you, so investigate."
5837 - It was mentioned from Qays ibn Salim, from Sa'id ibn Jubayr regarding His saying: "Thus were you before, you were keeping away from the likes of this."
