His saying, the Exalted: "And when they are alone"
4053 - Abu Bakr ibn Abi Musa narrated to us, Harun ibn Hatim narrated to us, 'Abd al-Rahman ibn Abi Hammad narrated to us, from Asbat, from al-Suddi, from Abu Malik, regarding His saying: "They are alone," meaning: they depart.
His saying, the Exalted: "They bite their fingertips at you in rage"
4054 - My father narrated to us, Muqatil ibn Muhammad narrated to us, Waki' narrated to us, Sufyan narrated to us, from Abu Ishaq, from Abu al-Ahwas, from 'Abd Allah regarding "And when they are alone, they bite their fingertips at you in rage," he said: They bite the tips of their fingers. Similar [interpretations] were narrated from al-Dahhak, al-Suddi, al-Rabi' ibn Anas, and Muqatil.
4055 - Muhammad ibn Ghalib narrated to us, Sa'id ibn Ash'ath narrated to us, Yahya ibn 'Amr ibn Malik al-Nukri narrated to us, he said: I heard my father narrating from Abu al-Jawza' regarding His saying: "And when they are alone, they bite their fingertips at you in rage," he said: This verse was revealed regarding the Abadiyyah.
His saying, the Exalted: "In rage"
4056 - Muhammad ibn Yahya narrated to us, al-'Abbas ibn al-Walid informed us, Yazid narrated to us, from Sa'id, from Qatadah regarding "And when they are alone, they bite their fingertips at you in rage," he says: Because of what they find in their hearts of rage and hatred for that which they are upon; if they could find any scent [of opportunity], they would be against the believers. So they are as Allah described.
His saying, the Exalted: "Say, 'Die in your rage'"
4057 - I read to Muhammad ibn al-Fadl, Muhammad ibn 'Ali narrated to us, Muhammad ibn Muzahim informed us, from Bukayr ibn Ma'ruf, from Muqatil ibn Hayyan, regarding His saying: "Say, 'Die in your rage,'" meaning: the people of hypocrisy.
His saying, the Exalted: "Indeed, Allah is Knowing of that within the breasts"
4058 - And by the same chain from Muqatil ibn Hayyan, regarding His saying: "Indeed, Allah is Knowing of that within the breasts," [meaning:] what is in their hearts.
His saying, the Exalted: "If good touches you"
