His saying, the Exalted: "[Remember] when you were saying to the believers, 'Will it not be sufficient for you that your Lord should reinforce you'"
4092 - Al-Hasan ibn Ahmad narrated to us, Musa ibn Muhkam narrated to us, Abu Bakr al-Hanafi narrated to us, 'Abbad ibn Mansur narrated to us, from al-Hasan regarding His saying: "[Remember] when you were saying to the believers," he said: On the day of Badr.
4093 - My father narrated to us, Yahya ibn al-Mughirah narrated to us, Jarir informed us, from Ya'qub—meaning al-Qummi—from Ja'far ibn Abi al-Mughirah, from Sa'id ibn Jubayr, who said: On the day of Hunayn, Allah reinforced His Messenger with five thousand angels, marked [for battle]; and on that day, Allah named the Ansar (Helpers) believers.
His saying, the Exalted: "Will it not be sufficient for you that your Lord should reinforce you"
4094 - Muhammad ibn al-'Abbas narrated to us, Muhammad ibn 'Amr narrated to us, Salamah narrated to us, he said: Muhammad ibn Ishaq said: "that your Lord should reinforce you," he said: A reinforcement He provided you with.
His saying, the Exalted: "with three thousand angels sent down"
4095 - My father narrated to us, Musa ibn Isma'il narrated to us, Wuhayb narrated to us, from Dawud, from 'Amir: That news reached the Muslims on the day of Badr that Kurz ibn Jabir al-Muharibi was reinforcing the polytheists, which troubled them, so Allah, the Exalted, revealed: "Will it not be sufficient for you that your Lord should reinforce you with three thousand angels sent down," up to His saying: "marked [for battle]." He said: The news of the defeat reached Kurz, so he did not reinforce the polytheists, and the Muslims were not reinforced with the five [thousand].
4096 - My father narrated to us, Ahmad ibn 'Abd al-Rahman narrated to us, 'Abd Allah ibn Abi Ja'far narrated to us, from his father, from al-Rabi', regarding His saying: "with three thousand angels sent down," meaning: He reinforced you with a thousand, then they became three thousand, then they became five thousand.
His saying, the Exalted: "Yes, if you remain patient and conscious of Allah"
4097 - Muhammad ibn 'Abd Allah ibn Yazid narrated to us, Sufyan ibn 'Uyaynah narrated to us, from 'Amr, from 'Ikrimah, who said: The Prophet (ﷺ) was not reinforced on the day of Uhud with even a single angel.
Allah, the Exalted, says: "Yes, if you remain patient and conscious of Allah"
