4358 - Al-Fadl ibn Shadhan narrated to us, Yahya ibn 'Abd al-Hamid narrated to us, 'Abd Allah ibn Ja'far al-Mukharrimi narrated to us, from Abu 'Awn, from al-Miswar ibn Makhramah, from 'Abd al-Rahman ibn 'Awf regarding: "Then He sent down upon you after distress a sense of security, slumber," he said: He cast sleep upon them.
4359 - Al-Hasan ibn Dawud ibn Mihran al-Mu'addib and al-Mundhir ibn Shadhan narrated to us, they said: Al-Hasan ibn Bishr al-Bajali narrated to us, al-Hakam ibn 'Abd al-Malik narrated to us, from Qatadah, from Anas, from Abu Talhah, who said: I was one of those upon whom Allah sent down: "Then He sent down upon you after distress a sense of security, slumber," and I would doze off until my sword would fall from my hand, then I would pick it up. In the narration of al-Mundhir: "And my sword would fall from me, then I would pick it up with my hand."
4360 - Abu Sa'id al-Ashaj narrated to us, Abu Nu'aym and Waki' narrated to us, from Sufyan, from 'Asim, from Abu Razin, from 'Abd Allah ibn Mas'ud who said: Slumber during battle is from Allah, and in prayer, it is from Shaytan.
4361 - Al-Hasan ibn Abi al-Rabi' narrated to us, 'Abd al-Razzaq informed us, Ma'mar informed us, from Qatadah regarding "a sense of security, slumber," he said: Allah cast slumber upon them, and that was a security for them.
4362 - My father narrated to us, Duhaym narrated to us, al-Walid narrated to us, Ibn Lahi'ah narrated to us, from Abu al-Aswad, from 'Urwah ibn al-Zubayr, from his father, al-Zubayr ibn al-'Awwam, who said: When we met on the day of Badr, Allah empowered slumber over us. I would be dazed, and it would flog me, and I would struggle, and it would flog me; I could not endure anything but that. The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) was likewise among his companions. The polytheists drew near us until they said: "By Allah, there is no one left under the shields." Al-Zubayr said: The first to recover from that state of silence and slumber was the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him).
His saying, the Exalted: "overcoming a faction of you"
4363 - Al-'Abbas ibn al-Walid ibn Mazid al-Bayruti informed us, Muhammad ibn Shu'ayb ibn Shabur narrated to us, Sa'id ibn Bashir informed me, from Qatadah regarding the saying of Allah the Exalted: "overcoming a faction of you," he said: They were two groups on that day, and as for one group, slumber overcame them.
