The Second Aspect:

7295 - Ali ibn al-Husayn narrated to us, Muhammad narrated to us, Mihran narrated to us, from Sufyan regarding His saying: "We seized them suddenly," he said: Sixty years.

The Third Aspect:

7296 - Ahmad ibn Ibrahim ibn Kathir al-Dawraqi narrated to us, Muhammad ibn Shaybah ibn Ahmad ibn al-Mubarak narrated to us, Ibn al-Mubarak narrated to us, from Muhammad ibn al-Nadr al-Harithi regarding His saying: "We seized them suddenly," he said: They were granted respite for twenty years.

His saying: "And then they are in despair (mublisun)."

[The First Aspect]

7297 - My father narrated to us, Abu Salih narrated to us, Mu'awiyah ibn Salih narrated to me, from 'Ali ibn Abi Talhah, from Ibn 'Abbas, regarding His saying: "ublisu" (they are in despair), he says: They despaired.

And the Second Aspect:

7298 - My father narrated to us, Sa'id ibn Ya'qub Abu Bakr al-Taliqani narrated to us, Ibn al-Mubarak narrated to us, from Isma'il, from al-Suddi regarding His saying: "And then they are in despair," he said: The changing of the countenance. And Iblis was only named such because Allah (Azza wa Jall) caused him to despair (ablasahu) and altered him.

And the Third Aspect:

7299 - Abu 'Abd Allah al-Tihrani narrated to us, Hafs ibn 'Umar al-'Adani informed us, al-Hakam ibn Aban narrated to us, from 'Ikrimah, who said regarding: "And then they are in despair," he said: The year of the conquest [of Mecca].

And the Fourth Aspect:

7300 - Ahmad ibn 'Uthman ibn Hakim informed us in what he wrote to me, Ahmad ibn Mufaddal narrated to us, Asbat narrated to us, from al-Suddi, regarding His saying: "And then they are in despair," he said: They are destroyed, their condition having changed.

The Fifth Aspect:

7301 - Abu Yazid al-Qaratisi informed us in what he wrote to me, Asbagh ibn al-Faraj informed us, who said: I heard 'Abd al-Rahman ibn Zayd saying regarding His saying: "And then they are in despair," he said: The "mublis" is the exhausted, the distressed person who has been afflicted by an evil that he cannot repel; and the "mublis" is in a more severe state than the arrogant.
