His saying, the Exalted: "Say, 'I do not tell you that I have the depositories of Allah,'" up to His saying: "Say, 'Are the blind and the seeing equal? Then will you not give thought?'"
7322 - Hajjaj ibn Hamzah narrated to us, Shababah narrated to us, Warqa' narrated to us, from Ibn Abi Najih, from Mujahid regarding His saying: "Say, 'Are the blind and the seeing equal?'" He said: The blind is the one who is astray.
7323 - Muhammad ibn Yahya narrated to us, al-'Abbas ibn al-Walid informed us, Yazid narrated to us, from Sa'id, from Qatadah regarding His saying: "Say, 'Are the blind and the seeing equal?'" The blind is the disbeliever who has become blind to the truth of Allah, His command, and His blessings upon him.
His saying: "And the seeing? Then will you not give thought?"
7324 - Hajjaj narrated to us, Shababah narrated to us, Warqa' narrated to us, from Ibn Abi Najih, from Mujahid (1): "Say, 'Are the blind and the seeing equal? Then will you not give thought?'" He said: And the seeing is the one who is guided.
7325 - Muhammad narrated to us, al-'Abbas narrated to us, Yazid narrated to us, from Sa'id, from Qatadah: "Say, 'Are the blind and the seeing equal? Then will you not give thought?'" He said: The seeing is the believing servant who has acquired a beneficial vision, so he has declared the Oneness of Allah alone, acted in obedience to his Lord, and benefited from what Allah has given him.
His saying, Mighty and Majestic: "And warn with it those who fear that they will be gathered to their Lord."
[The First Aspect]
7326 - Muhammad ibn 'Ammar narrated to us, Ya'mur ibn Bishr narrated to us, Ibn al-Mubarak narrated to us, Ash'ath ibn Siwar narrated to us, from Kurdus ibn 'Abbas, from Ibn 'Abbas who said: The elite of Quraysh passed by the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, and with him were Khabbab, Bilal, and Suhayb. They said: "Are these the ones whom Allah has favored among us? Do you command us to be followers of these people? Drive them away from you, perhaps then we might follow you." So Allah revealed: "And warn with it those who fear that they will be gathered to their Lord," up to His saying: "And so that the way of the criminals will become evident." Verses 52-55.
7327 - Ahmad ibn 'Uthman ibn Hakim al-Awdi informed me in what he wrote to me, Ahmad ibn Mufaddal narrated to us, Asbat narrated to us, from al-Suddi regarding His saying: "And warn with it those who fear that they will be gathered to their Lord; they have no protector or intercessor besides Him." These are the believers.
